Andy Bohay: Update on International Student Exchange

The possibility of an International Student exchange was identified to the students at Ladysmith Senior Secondary. A meeting of parents and students was held. At the meeting four students attended, however one student did not have her parent with her. A fifth student has identified interest but could not attend the meeting. At this time the students and parents are still deciding if they can participate.

If we are successful in identifying a suitable candidate for the 2014- 2015 exchange, we will need some funds for the initial meetings that are required.

A commitment from the executive that the necessary funds for us to participate in the 2014-2015 exchange is needed before we select a student to participate. This is to be raised at the next meeting of the Directors.

The Committee recommends to the Executive that the Treasure identify a portion of our reserve funds and arrange for these funds to be invested in OIKO credits.
