Background
My name is Fahim Shahabi. I am 32 years old, a bilingual Dari and Pashto speaker, and a graduate from Kabul Medical University. I learned English during my childhood from my Father who is a retired Army officer. Due to my high interest in English language and specially American English, I used to search everywhere for contents in English such as films, story books, and magazines. I also took private English lessons for a couple of years and I can claim that I have native-like English fluency.
Later on, I became interested in Translation. At first, I used to transcribe and translate VOA news into Dari and Pashto as a hobby (I know! A Pretty strange Hobby!). Then I decided to take it more seriously and started to look for a part-time translation job. I also passed a one-year Translator Training Program.
I am now a professional Dari and Pashto translator with more than eight years of Translation. During the last eight years, I have completed many important translation assignments for the government, national companies and banks. I am also collaborating with some famous international translation companies. I am particularly interested and have strong capabilities in translating Military, Medical, Legal and Financial texts, but I am also professional in translating other subjects such as Education, Politics, Journalism, Automotive, Telecommunications and Marketing.
I am also a professional user of some famous Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tools including SDL Trados (2007/2009). I got my ICDL (International Computer Driving License) some 5 years ago and I have full mastery over programs such as Microsoft Office suit and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
My rates are affordable and negotiable. Having 8 years of translation experience and incorporating CAT tools, I can assure high quality translations. I also provide editing, proofreading and localization services.
