Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new month already.Here are a few news items about what will be happening this month.

We are working on a new novel study called “Stone Fox”. Ask your child what it is about. We will continue to work on our writing and reading skills with the Daily 5 approach. We are working on story writing skills.

The children were excited to work through our unit on addition and subtraction. Any review on addition, subtraction or basic factsthat you would like to do would be helpful for keeping these skills fresh.

We are starting our work on a “Building Things” unit. To help with this unit, we are having “Hands-on Science” come in to do an activity with us. Thank you to those parents who were able to come and help with the “Hands-on Science” presentation. Please look for a note about a building bridges project that will be completed at home. We are looking forward to seeing the bridges that the student will make and hearing about how these bridges are constructed on Friday, March 11th.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Below is a list of the students in our class. They would all love to receive a Valentine from each other. Please be sure to include every child in the class.

We will be going to the skating rink for free skating. We will leave the school at 10:00, skate from 10:15-11:00 and return back to school by 11:15. A big thank you to the parents who are coming to help tie skates!
