SALARY PROPOSED:Sense salary scale Point 26-30 (£24,117 – £27,195)

  2. The Corporate New Business Executive is responsible for:

Providing support to the Corporate Fundraising Team in their activities to deliver their annual financial targets and ensure new business targets are met.

1.2He/she will do this by:

  • Providing support and working with the Head of Corporate and the wider team maximizing on activities. A proactive approach is required to all types of corporate fundraising, including but not limited to: staff fundraising, event participant recruitment, sponsorship proposals, cause related marketing, virtual gifts, philanthropic donations, corporate volunteering, pro-bono opportunities and account management.
  • Undertaking new business research and strategic partnerships/Charity of the Year applications.
  • Providing administrative support to account management.
  • Prospect researching to make targeted cold approaches to suitable potential partners.
  • Being pro-active and working across teams to update social media, website and the corporate data and profile generally.

2.The Corporate New Business Executive is responsible for:

  • Assisting the Corporate Team in the implementation of its strategy and to achieve net income and other team Key Performance Indicators.
  • To pro-actively develop new long-term fundraising relationships to build loyalty and fundraising income.

New Business

  • To design and submit targeted applications for Charity of the Year partnerships and cultivate long-term strategic alliances where appropriate.
  • To research companies for Charity of the Year partnerships and corporate donations opportunities.
  • To carry out queries on our database Raiser’s Edge and use our research database to identify companies to approach for corporate donations and potential re-engagement.
  • To monitor and update the Corporate Team on Charity sector/fundraising initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility news using the relevant websites and channels of information.

Corporate Fundraising Events

  • To identify and secure sponsors for corporate fundraising events, campaigns and initiatives.
  • To promote the events and recruit teams from cold and warm contacts (lists to be generated) through email, social media and phone calls as appropriate.
  • To motivate and support individual employees of Sense’s corporate partners in their fundraising activities.

Team/Admin Support

  • To keep records of all approaches made and of company contacts up-to-date using the database Raisers Edge and Microsoft Office for other relevant spreadsheets and documents including the New Business Pipeline.
  • To assist with the production of materials, fundraising packs and other relevant materials as required.
  • To respond in a prompt and efficient manner to all emails, general calls and requests involving colleagues in follow up actions where appropriate.
  • Sense website: contribute to update the corporate fundraising pages content to ensure that this is up-to-date and increasing activity.
  • To edit Corporate e-newsletters (Sense and Sense International) and to liaise with the corporate team to generate content and boost circulation and interaction.
  • To support the Head of Corporates with the Fundraising Development Board as appropriate.
  • Providing any additional administrative support as required.
3. Other
  • To liaise with appropriate internal staff and develop excellent cross-team working relationship across both Fundraising and the wider team.
  • To attend meetings (internal and external), presentations and events as required.
  • To be self-administrating
  • To ensure that Sense Policies and Institute of Fundraising Guidelines are adhered to in all aspects of the job
  • To have a clear understanding of and commitment to the vision of Sense
  • To ensure that Sense core messages and values are maintained in all aspects of the job

Essential Criteria
  • Possess a high level of corporate awareness and demonstrative experience and skills in corporate fundraising with a proven track record in achieving income against agreed targets.
  • Experience in developing new business relationships and account management within the corporate sector including managing a sales pipeline and results.
  • Experience in cold calling and reaching key decision makers to positively engage in a beneficial way.
  • Experience of database manipulation and management (Raisers Edge or similar).
  • Hands-on experience of or an understanding of the following areas;

Essential Criteria
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan, multi task and prioritise to manage a complex and varied workload.
  • Excellent confident telephone skills and relationship builder
  • Capable of representing the charity both internally and externally, showing attention to detail to form and develop effective relationships with supporters.
  • Demonstrable ability to build strong relationships with key individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Writing and develop high quality compelling proposals.
  • Capable of inspiring the trust of corporate supporters.
  • Knowledge of a fundraising relational database.
  • Evidence of using Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat and other business software efficiently.
  • A willingness to travel and to attend and assist at events during evening and weekends where necessary.
  • Sensitivity and willingness to develop an understanding of deafblind issues.
  • Ability to identify and report on potential funding opportunities from corporate supporters.
  • Confident individual with the ability to organise and plan well with a creative flair and positive approach to work.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated with a collaborative working style.
