Job Title: Technology Coordinator, Financial Aid Information Systems

Department: Bethune-Cookman University -Student Financial Aid Office

Immediate Supervisor: Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the implementation, modification and maintenance of Financial Aid software systems in conjunction with software end users.
  1. Serve as in-house Power-FAIDS expert and as a point of contact for financial aid users, fielding questions, troubleshooting problems and providing support.
  1. Coordinate and assist CIT (Center for Information Technology) in the development and implementation of system upgrades to Power-FAIDS.
  1. Coordinate the implementation of Federal financial aid software such as EDE, EDconnect, NSLDS, FAA Access to CPS and COD.
  1. Coordinate the financial aid office conversion to Jenzabar.
  1. Collaborate with systems personnel in other offices such as Student Accounts and CIT.
  1. Assist in the development and presentation of user training. Train department staff in the use of technology.
  1. Implement Quality Control features in PowerFAIDS.
  1. Coordinate automated processes such as auto packaging.
  1. Develop and maintain the Financial Aid Technical Procedures manual.
  1. Edit/Update Financial aid webpage.
  1. Maintain adequate system documentation and security measures.
  1. To assist in maintaining the Federal electronic dataexchange processing system.
  1. Responsible for maintaining and updating data in theautomated application tracking system and generatingoutput for staff. Responsible for the analysis andreview of application materials and other student recorddata received for input in the tracking system.
  1. Support testing efforts for Financial Aid regulatory upgrades and patches. Monitor list serves for potential issues impacting Financial Aid processing.
  1. Responsible for successful Financial Aid disbursement procedures.
  1. Download Institutional Student Information Reports (ISIR) on a daily basis.
  1. Attend scheduled technical financial aid workshops for training andupdating on new programs and regulations.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and/or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  2. Knowledge of and experience with PowerFAIDS
  3. Knowledge of and experience with Jenzabar
  4. Experience in development and management of computerized information systems, preferably related to financial aid

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Familiarity with automated office systems
  2. Must be well organized and able to keep meticulous records
  3. Ability to work independently and handle multiple and varied priorities
  4. Ability to identify and apply technological solutions to meet federal regulatory financial aid requirements
