The Refugee Services Coordinator oversees the Refugee Resettlement Services and is accountable for contract compliance and fiscal management. S/he develops and cultivates resources to support and expand program services. S/he represents Refugee Resettlement Services in communications with other service providers, community groups, employers and LIRS. S/he supervises, directly or indirectly, case management and job development staff as well as volunteers and interns. S/he guides staff in prioritizing service delivery tasks to ensure contractual compliance, timely delivery of core services, proper reporting, and, most importantly, to ensure that the needs of our most vulnerable clients are addressed.Parameters of service provision are spelled out in detail by our funders. Documentation demands are both rigorous and extensive.

  1. Follow all Lutheran Services Carolinas policies and procedures.
  1. Coordinate with agency staff, area service providers, volunteers and other service providers to assure self-sufficiency, independency and successful integration of RRS clients.
  1. Supervise and direct staff through staff meetings, case file audits, reports and regular trainings.
  1. Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, co-sponsors and volunteers, local providers and organizations.
  1. Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly and annual) as requested by PRM, ORR, LIRS and/or LSC. Supervise service provision and fulfillment of reporting requirements of the State Refugee Assistance Programs.Ensure compliance with CQI, confidentiality standards, contractual obligations and HIPAA guidelines in service delivery and case documentation.
  1. Cultivate culture of teamwork and leadership development.
  1. Work effectively with supervisor to achieve the priority mandates of the Refugee Service Coordinator position.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and three years experience or Master’s degree and one year experience. Three years experience in management, administration and supervision.

Specific skills/abilities:Excellent reading, writing skills; Must be proficient in use of office and computer equipment; Must have awareness and sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.

Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc.: Valid NC or SC driver’s license; Transportation of client(s) in personal vehicle may be required
