We offer a range of consultancy services drawing on our in depth knowledge of the food-on-the-move sector. Our Head Office is located in the world famous village of Cheddar and, although many of the team are based throughout the UK and Europe, we regularly gather together to review performance and share best practice.

The Role

A new and exciting team is being created by FSC in order to deliver operational excellence and improved merchandising support, compliance checking,Space Optimisation and food safety for a major blue-chip retail partner which is one of the World’s major energy companies, employing an average of 93,000 people and operating in more than 70 countries.major energy companies, employing an average of 93,000 people and operating in more than 70 countries.major energy companies, employing an average of 93,000 people and operating in more than 70 countries.

You will consult a region of retailers where the key driver is to seek to better understand the way the businesses operate and giving the correct advice to the stakeholders. Youare genuinely assisting in the delivery of excellence rather than seeking to sell more products B2B. You will be expected to work along side your clients (approximately 150-200) to develop their skills and that of their staff.

There will be a number of key levers at your disposal and it is your challenge to choose the correct levers to suit the needs of the businesses you are working with. You are not tasked with selling more units to benefit our business but the goal is to improve compliance and safety for the business unit and for the client – however that is achieved.

As a Brand standards consultant youwill be responsible for:

Merchandising Support

  • Surveys of existing layouts/ equipment
  • Installation of new equipment and/ or POS
  • Implementation of permanent or trial planograms
  • Seasonal activity set up

Compliance Checking

  • Ensuring Shop layout plans have not changed
  • Auditing Planogram compliance
  • NPD availability
  • Retail Brand Standards
  • Food Safety Audit

Space Optimisation

  • Reviewing Category performance and making proposals for change

The Necessary Skills

  • First-Class negotiation abilities.
  • The role is for you to implement changes to working practices if required but also to explain, advise, justify and promote changes are correctfor the development of the businesses.
  • Confident at dealing with direct client issues whether face-to-face, on the phone or via email you musthave the ability to transfer your experiences and expectations to everybody youinteract with. Essential that you can gain the trust and loyalty with those people youwork alongside as well as inspiring them to deliver the concept whether you are withthem or not.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint primarily).
  • Self-motivated.
  • Previous experience in the retail industry is desirable.
  • Pro-active approach and attitude to new developments.
  • Willing to learn through personal development and dedicated to being onsite and making a difference, adaptable, conscientious and relentless. This role is for someone who demands, and gets results but achieves them in the “right” way!
  • Full, clean driving licence.
