BOX SCHEME AND MARKET PACKER AND DRIVER

Main Purpose of the Role

The main purpose ofthe post ofbox scheme and market packer and driver is to pack and deliver vegetable boxes, and pack and run two markets; one weekly and one monthly.

Position in the Community Farm

Reports to: The Warehouse Manager

Scope of the Job

  • To carry out all driving, picking and packingtasks relating to the vegetable box on the specified days.
  • To carry out the packing and run a market stall on a Wednesday, and once a month on a Saturday.
  • To work independently as needed.

A standard working week will be 16 hours, with an extra day once a month of 10 hours

Working days will be:

Wednesday – 7.00am – 15.00pm (Southmead Market)

Thursday – 9.00am – 17.00pm(Box Delivery Round)

2nd Saturday every month – 6.00am – 15.00pm (Keynsham Market)

To be available to cover weekday packing and delivery shifts on a rota basis if needed.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To be responsible for delivering our market stall at Southmead Hospital on a Wednesday, including packing and driving produce and cash handling.
  • To work with the market leader to deliver our market stall at Keynsham market once a month.
  • To pack and deliver vegetable boxes to our customers on a Thursday.
  • To take on driver responsibilities as needed to ensurethe smooth running of the business.
  • Be an enthusiastic and committed ambassador for the Community Farm and its key objectives of environmental sustainability and community engagement.
  • Develop clear and open methods of communication with other staff of the community farm.
  • Work independently at all times showing initiative and actively foster a ‘can do’ culture which will guarantee the success of the business.
  • Undertake additional duties commensurate with the post as may reasonably be requested from time to time.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with the Community Farm’s requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The successful applicant

  • Should have experience of van driving and multi drop.
  • Must hold a clean full UK Driving License
  • Forklift license preferable

The post will bebased at The Community Farm warehouse near Chew Magna when not driving but will be largely involved with deliveries in Bristol, Bath and North Somerset.

The successful applicant will be paid £7.20an hour and will be expected to work varying hours as needed.
