Purpose of job

Context and environment
The Teaching Centre offers a full range of English courses – IELTS preparation, young learners, adult general English and on/off site business English. We also offer some teacher training courses and occasionally run a CELTA.
The teaching operation in Bangladesh increasingly needs to take its products/courses closer to its customers, given the population growth in urban centres. Consequently, in Dhaka alone, we operate from 3 centres and teachers will typically teach in any of our centres/branches depending on the term and any of the products we offer, and both on and off site. Teaching operations are also being restarted in Sylhet and Chittagong.
The teaching operation currently runs courses 0830-2130 and 7 days a week and for ages 5 and upwards, however, what/where/how we teach is constantly evolving in line with customer demands and opportunities, and all teachers are expected to meet these changing needs
Teachers work a 5-day teaching week and their 2 consecutive days off will vary each term depending on the needs of the timetable/customers. Most courses are 32 hours (although there are shorter 16 hour IELTS preparation courses) and normally meet twice a week for two hours (weekdays) or once a week for four hours (Friday/Saturday). Training and development is a high priority in our work and we rely on our teachers to take an active and participative role in what the centre offers.
Teaching continues throughout the year.
