Solo backing tracks show – notes:

Music:

- This should be extremely simple as it will be run with backing tracks via an app on iPad.

- I will create a playlist for the night and need a technician to operate it remotely.

- I will cue tracks with either or a vocal or hand gesture to the relevant engineer (apart from intro tracks for each half which we will co-ordinate when I'm ready to start).

- I will put all the songs I want to do in order on the playlist so it should be very easy. I will include a few potential extras at the bottom of the list however if there are requests for them. Each track auto-pauses at the end and then auto selects the next track ready to play - so it should be as easy as just hitting play on each cue.

- The general mix should be quite old school, with the vocal prominent and the general sound mix 60s/70s style in terms of its dynamics.

Vocal:

- I am happy to provide my own radio mic for use as it has a good sound for the era i'm performing (it is a BETA SM58 - only a few years old so there's no wavelength conflicts). Personally I'm not keen on the sound of Sennheiser mics if that's what you normally use as they sound too modern for Elvis.

- To achieve the right style of sound on my vocal for the era, I like to roll off quite a lot of bass and add a bit of extra mid.

- I will require monitoring with a strong emphasis on my vocal, keeping it nice and high in the mix.

- For my monitoring, I would like my vocal to have a decent wetness in the sound, with a good level of reverb.

Lights:

- I don't have any complex lighting requirements.

- As a general feel though, think Las Vegas so in the fast-paced numbers, moving heads and strobing/flashing lights when I'm doing big dance moves would be great.

- For ballads and slow numbers just general mood lighting.

- Colours should be warm and the layout expansive.

- If you have a follow spot that would be great to use.

Staging:

- Monitoring and mic position set up front and centre stage.

- Will need a small table nearby where I can place a glass of water and Elvis scarves that I give out to the crowd.

- Might need a place to put a guitar stand (guitar is acoustic and won't need a mic, it's mainly just a prop).

- Will potentially need a stage hand (or I may be able to arrange someone to do this) to either remove guitar from stage after I've used it and or hand or help with other props. Will be very simple if required.

Stage Extension:

If a cat walk is available that would also be desired to come out approx. 10-20 feet from the centre of the stage front.

Use of a CD/iPod playback system for additional music may be required.
