It turns out that the homeless man who accompanied MILEY CYRUS to the MTV Video Music Awards has a warrant out for his arrest in Oregon. Jesse Helt is his name and he was arrested in 2010 after breaking into the apartment of a man who’d been selling what Helt believed to be bad marijuana. The arrest warrant was issued in November 2011 after he violated probation and he’s since been living on the streets of L.A. while trying to find work as a model. Miley is defending Helt on Twitter saying, "People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included. I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it."

JUSTIN BIEBER got rear-ended while driving his red Ferrari in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon. TMZ is saying that Bieber got tickedoff when he noticed a photographer following him in a Prius and slammed on his brakes, causing the paparazzo to crash into him. Bieber’s Ferrari was scratched, but he wasn't hurt, although he was even angrier as he tweeted, "We should have learned from the death of Princess Diana." However, it was laughable when Bieber later tweeted, “I don't have a problem with Paparazzi but when they act recklessly they put us all in danger.” Most all of Bieber’s problems have come from the paparazzi.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but JUSTIN BIEBER is under investigation for several crimes, including attempted robbery, after he allegedly lunged at a fan at a Dave & Buster's. Bieber was there with Selena Gomez on Monday night when a fan started taking cell phone photos and video of the two. Justin was apparently trying to get the guy’s phone to presumably erase the pictures and video. However, Justin's security held him back and he never made contact with the fan and he was gone by the time police arrived. Still, the fan apparently wants to press charges and Justin is being investigated, which could be a problem for Bieber since he’s on probation.

Was SUGE KNIGHT the intended target at CHRIS BROWN’S MTV Video Music Awards pre-party? It depends on who you ask. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department seems to think he was and other sources say he may have a price on his head. However, comedian Katt Williams, who says he was with Knight when he was shot, says Suge was trying to protect someone else when the bullets started flying. Katt didn’t say if that someone else was Chris Brown, but he maintained the shooting wasn’t gang related. (See Katt here) Meanwhile, police are interviewing witnesses, although Knight isn’t cooperating. Word has it that they also want to talk to Chris Brown, but they’re not likely to get anything from him, either.

Lots of people were offended by that Emmy Awards segment where SOFIA VERGARA was on a rotating pedestal as the president of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said, "We never forget that our success is based on always giving the viewer something compelling to watch." The haters called it sexist, but Sofia disagreed saying, “It means someone can be hot and also be funny and make fun of herself and enjoy and work and make money, so I absolutely think it's ridiculous. And somebody who started this, and I know who she was, has no sense of humor and should lighten up a little bit!”

BRYAN CRANSTON’S Emmy win was popular…especially with his neighbors! Cranston won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Walter White on “Breaking Bad” and returned home to find neighbors had decorated the front of his house with posters and balloons.

THE WATERCOOLER…

The class of 2018 is starting college, but what is life like for these whipper-snappers? Most were born in 1996 and according to this year’s Mindset List, they probably never used Netscape or watched Saturday morning cartoons. Scenes of 9/11 haunted them in kindergarten, the WNBA has always been around, and there have always been female refs in the NBA. TV shows have always had a parental advisory rating system, Harry Potter made wire-rimmed glasses famous and not John Lennon and that "pound" sign on the phone is now a "hashtag."

Facebook says that after numerous complaints they’re working to cut down on so-called click-bait links on your news feed. Facebook is taking out the trash by seeing how long people are staying on stories they clicked on via the news feed. If they click on a link and then go straight back to Facebook, it suggests that they didn't find something that they wanted. Another way to determine if it’s click-bait is by seeing whether people are commenting on or sharing content. If a lot of people click on the link, but relatively few Like it or comment on it when they return to Facebook, it also suggests it’s junk.

According to a new survey, people who use Facebook and Twitter are less likely than others to share their opinions on hot-button issues, even when they’re offline. They call it the "spiral of silence" phenomenon, which means that unless people know their audience agrees, they’re likely to shy away from discussing anything controversial. For example, of the 1,801 adults surveyed, 86 percent they’d be willing to discuss their views about government surveillance if it came up in real world conversation, but just 42 percent of Facebook or Twitter users said they’d be willing to post online about it.

Everybody says their city has the worst drivers…but who really does have the worst? Allstate Insurance says that dishonor goes to drivers in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts. Allstate says they’re the most accident-prone in the U.S. with Worcester’s drivers having a collision every 4.3 years on average, while motorists in Boston go 4.4 years between crashes. Washington, D.C., which had the worst drivers for the last six years, now only has the third-worst, wrecking every 5.1 years. On the other hand, Fort Collins, Colorado has the safest drivers with an average 14.2 years between collisions.

Have you ever woken up so dazed and confused that you've mistaken a water bottle for a telephone or the closet for a toilet? If so, you might have a sleep disorder called "confusional arousal," or "sleep drunkenness." One-in-seven people have it and it happens when a person's deep sleep is interrupted. The body wakes up, but the brain continues to sleep. It's more common in children than adults and it goes well beyond morning grogginess. Those who have it are hard to wake up and often have no memory of an episode, which can include violence. Risk factors include alcoholism, PTSD, antidepressants, and too much or too little sleep.
