Intern – Corporate & Charity Partnerships

Salary: Voluntary–lunch and travel expenses paid as per In Kind Direct policy

Duration:Three-four month commitment, for at least three days per week

Normal hours 10am-4pm, (flexible)

Location: In Kind Direct offices in Central London, with occasional travel withinLondon and the UK

Reporting to:Deputy CEO/Head of Charity Partnerships

In Kind Direct, one of The Prince’s Charities, redistributes surplus product from manufacturers and retailers to UK charities working at home and abroad. We provide a unique service which helps charities stretch their limited budgets and diverts usable goods from waste or landfill.

We are looking for a talented intern to support the work of the Corporate Partnerships, Charity Partnerships, Logistics and Marketing teams. This is a varied and interesting role providing an opportunity to gain diverse experience within a growing and dynamic charity/social enterprise.

Our intern scheme has been running for over two years and has provided a hugely valuable springboard for people starting out in the sector or looking to diversify or expand their experience.

As part of this internship, there may be an opportunity for the postholder to spend some time on a placement with one of In Kind Direct’s donor companies or partner charities to help expand their experience and future employability.

Tasks may include:

-Internet, telephone and database research

-Preparing reports for company product donors and funders

-Assisting the charities team in providing excellent customer service to our charity partners

-Assisting in fundraising and income generation initiatives

-Assisting in marketing activities, including events

-Gathering information about our charity partners needs, including through face to face visits

-Organising mailings, newsletters and database work

-General office duties as required

We’re looking for a person who...

-Has good administrative and IT skills

-Has good web research and writing skills

-Is well organised and able to prioritise their workload

-Has a confident telephone manner

-Is keen and willing to carry out day-to-day administrative tasks

-Can demonstrate a genuine interest inthe charity sector/corporate responsibility/social enterprise and In Kind Direct’s work
