Instructions for FTP program setup and data download access

The first step is to go to the Members section and click on the linkthat says FTP Program for Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP.
You will be taken to and must just click the Download link:
When prompted to save the file, save it to your My Documents folder. The download may take a while depending on the size of the file.
2. Install FTP Program
Next you go to My Documents on your computer and double click the file you just downloaded – its name will start with CoffeeFreeFTPInstaller... keep clicking the next button until the program is installed.
When the window pops up saying “Free Software” do not type in your e-mail address - Just click the start program button.
Next, delete the icon that says “Website Tools” from your desktop
(don’t delete the icon that says CoffeeFreeFTPInstaller.exe – that is the button you click to open the CoffeeCup FTP program so you can download your data).
3. Getting access to your data on the AWT secure FTP site
Before downloading your data you will need to contact Africa Wildlife Tracking and get your username and password. This ensures that only you can access the data on this secure password-protected FTP site.
Connect to the internet.
Once you have your username and password, open the “CoffeCup Free FTP” icon on your desktop, if there isn’t one, open the program by clicking the Start button, then Programs, then CoffeCup Software, then CoffeeCup FreeFTP, then CoffeCup Free FTP.
CoffeeCup FTP will now open.
Click on the connect button (two arrows with a yellow lightening bolt)
Click the Add Server button (bottom right)
In the Name field type AWT
In the Hostname/Address field type ftp.awt.co.za
Click the white circle next to the Requires username and password field
Type your username and password you received from Africa Wildlife Tracking
Click the button that says Cool
Now you are ready to download your data.
4. Downloading your data
Connect to the internet.
Once you have your username and password, open the “CoffeCup Free FTP” icon on your desktop.
Click on the connect button (two arrows with a yellow lightening bolt)
Click the server that says AWT and click the button that says Cool
You will now be connected to the server and will be able to download your data.
To download the data first select where on your hard drive you want to store the data, for example select the drive in the drop down menu on the left (under Local:) and then double click the folder where you want to store the files (e.g. My Documents).
Now you just double click the data files in the right-hand window and they will be downloaded onto your hard drive.
NB: When you are finished downloading your data, you can just close the program (top right X of the window), there may be a window that pops up saying “CoffeeCup Software, Inc. Get $300 of Website Software FREE etc.” – Don’t click on the “Click here” button at the bottom, either you can close the window by clicking the small [x] in the bottom left of the window, or you can ignore it and the window will disappear within 10 seconds.
