Innovative Pediatric Therapy Clinic Opens in Midtown Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – August 15, 2014 –Family First Speech Therapy and Kids Connect Occupational Therapy announce the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility carefully designed for childrenand their families. The facility has several rooms varying in size to allow for individual treatment, dyads, and larger groups.
Three of the rooms are equipped with custom built, inviting over-head structures that have several swinging configurations, zip lines, monkey bars, and rock climbing walls. The largest room even has a two-story castle structure for the kids to explore, a slide coming down from the second story, and a jumping deck down into a ball pit. This equipment has very specific therapeutic benefits, but with the vibrant colors and magical castle theme, the children forget they are there for treatment. To them, they are in an inviting and magical environment.

Family First and Kids Connect also use the DIR/Floortime approach for treatment, a specialized form of therapy that closely looks at each child and family as a unique unit and focuses on building meaningful relationships with family, loved ones, and peers. Thisstate-of-the-art facility is a place where families are an integral piece of the puzzle, therapists form special bonds with their clients, and where caregivers come to learn about their child, how to read their cues and effectively communicate with them.
