Welcome

Netball Scotland would like to thank you for entering the 2014-15 Scottish Schools Cup Competition, and welcome you to the new season.

As you will no doubt agree, 2014 has been a fantastic year so far for Scottish netball with the historic home Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The Commonwealth Games was a real showcase of netball at the highest level and we are proud that our members; volunteers, players and officialsplayed a part in such a successful event. Our Scottish Thistles battled it out on court against some of the top 11 Commonwealth nations and I’m sure you will agree did the Thistle Army proud!

Yet again, we have seen a fantastic response to our Scottish Schools Cup Competition. We are thrilled to welcome new entries from schools from Aberdeenshire, Angus, Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Moray, North Lanarkshire, Perth and Kinross and South Lanarkshire. This season Netball Scotland are pleased to welcome all 191 teams to the competition, and we look forward to following the progress of each of the 70+ schools throughout the year.

The format of this year’s competition will remain the same as last, with regional section games followed by a knockout stage. Unfortunately there are some regional sections where travelling will be required, but we did our best to keep this to a minimum at this stage of the competition. Should schools wish to set up neutral venues or play games over a weekend in any of the sections, please get in touch with your opponents.

In this handbook you willfindthe 2014-15 draw for each section and a match report sheet (to be sent returned to Netball Scotland). The results will also be recorded on the Netball Scotland website (

Finally,Netball Scotland would like to wish all teams the very best for this year’s competition, and we very much look forward to yet another fantastic year of Schools netball, and to another great Scottish Schools Cup Finals event in March 2015.
