INFORMATION ON PRE-REQUISITES FOR ACC 311

When you have passedthe Graduate Writing Test (GWT) with a score of 7 or higher and you are currently enrolled in ACC 304 during the registration period for the upcoming quarter, Bronco Direct will automatically do a check of your pre-requisites and will allow you to add ACC 311. Please note if you receive a grade lower than a “C” in ACC 304 you will be administratively dropped from ACC 311 before the start of the new quarter, thus setting you back another quarter from taking ACC 311.

If you have registered to take the GWT during the current quarter and want to add ACC 311 to your class schedule for the next quarter, you will need to show proof to the Accounting Department (Bldg. 164, Room 20164). Proof will consist of your Test Center email confirming your registration date for the appropriate GWT or your payment receipt. Proof will be for the currently scheduled GWT, not the test date during the same quarter that you are planning on taking ACC 311! Proper proof will render you a permission number in order to add or waitlist for ACC 311. Please note that if you fail the GWT you will be administratively dropped from ACC 311 before the start of the new quarter, thus setting you back another quarter from taking ACC 311.

The following are pre-requisites for ACC 311:

  1. Minimum grade of C (2.0) in ACC 304.
  2. A passing grade on the Graduation Writing Test (GWT).

An important note regarding the GWT:

Students are eligible to take the GWT once they have completed a total of 90 units. This test is also a pre-requisite for other upper division courses. Failing this test will place you a quarter beyond your anticipated graduation date.

The GWT is offered only once a quarter so it is imperative that you plan on taking is as soon as you are able and a quarter or two before enrolling in ACC 311.
