EMERGING TRENDS IN WASTE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES(ETWMT - 2009)

Indian Association for Environment Management [IAEM:] was established in 1969 atNational Environmental Engineering Research Institute [NEERI:],Nagpur. IAEM is organizing National Events every year in different cities of India covering various aspects of Environment since 1999. National events were organized in various places covering several zones of India viz. Nagpur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Ankleshwar, Banaras etc. This year IAEM is organizing bilateral event: Indo-Italian Conference on Emerging Trends in Waste Management Technologies (ETWMT – 2009) during December 3-4 2009at MIT College of Engineering [], and Maharashtra Institute of Technology Pune [] in association with The Embassy of Italy,New DelhiIndia[]. The other Indian organization associated with this bilateral conference is theAction for Sustainable, Efficacious Development and Awareness [ASEA:], Rishikesh, India,

Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) Punerecently celebrated its Silver Jubilee (2007 – 2008).MAEER’s MIT, Pune, India is exclusively engaged in promoting the noble cause of education, training and research and it has established nearly 63 institutions having 50,000 students across varied disciplines under its umbrella. MAEER’s MIT, Pune, India has achieved tremendous success in a short span of 25 years at the National and International level, reflecting excellence in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Pharmacy, Environmental Improvement, Ecology, Bio-technology, Pollution control and other fields of Higher Professional Education.

MAEER’s MIT, Pune is committed to the cause of NationBuilding not just by nurturing academically excellent students but also by actively participating in or organizing events, conferences, seminars etc. of national importance at various levels. Due to our strong belief in Sustainable Development, we thought it appropriate to bring together concerned citizens and organizations related to the field of Environment Protection and Eco-Conservation by means of an International Conference.

THEME:

The world as a whole is experiencing a phase of rapid development in all aspects of human life which is adversely affecting all components of environment Air, Water and Land. Therefore this calls for a thorough research in the field of waste management. ETWMT-2009, aims to bring awareness in the conservation of environment by application of emerging waste management technologies. Technocrats, scientists, researchers, administrators, policy makers, field operators from various government organizations, research institutions, universities, NGOs etc. will deliberate and benefit from the experience of the experts on the subject.

The sub-themes of the conference are:

  • Recycling technologies and cleaner technologies of production.
  • Air Environment and Climate Change related issues.
  • Water Environment related issues (Rising sea water level, Ground Water, Surface Water, Rain Water harvesting etc.).
  • Land Environment related issues (Forest, Solid Waste, Nuclear Waste, e-waste, Bio-medical waste etc.)
  • Environmental Education including Training and Role of NGOs.
  • Environmental policies and legal issues.

CALL FOR PAPERS:

The organizers invite papers from renowned Engineers, Academicians, Scientists and Practitioners on the topics related to the conference themes. Apart from selected papers there will be key note addresses by well known luminaries of Environmental Engineering Sector. Interested authors are requested to submit their full length papers by email to on A-4 size paper latest by 30th September 2009 for inclusion in the proceedings prior to commencement of the Conference.

The registration fee for attending the conference is as follow:

Delegates from Industry / Rs. 2,000
Delegates from Academic Institutions and Research Organisations / Rs. 1,500
Research Scholars/Students / Rs. 300
Foreign Delegates / $100

Delegates are requested to register by sending duly filled registration form along with prescribed registration fees. Registration fees through Demand Draft (DD) should be drawn in favour of The Principal MIT College of Engineering payable at Pune.

ACCOMMODATION:

  • Accommodation in the guest house of MIT Campus is limited and booking of rooms could be made available to the registered delegates on first come first serve basis.
  • Organizers will extend the necessary assistance in securing suitable accommodation in nearby hotels on request by the registered delegates well in advance.
  • The charges are to be borne by the delegates.
  • Pune is well connected by air, road and rail with major cities of the country.

PROCEEDINGS:

The proceedings containing selected papers will be distributed at the time of registration.

Advertisements are invited from the industries and other establishments for inclusion in the souvenir. The souvenir will be given wide publicity through large scale distribution. The rates are as follows:
