II Thess 2:10, 11 - And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: Most of us know that we are the generation of the last days. The generation that sees Israel become a nation (1948) and Jerusalem under the Jews control ( beginning in 1967) would be the generation that would see all things come to pass (Mt 24:34). In the overview that follows “as the days of Noe were,” ignorance and rejection of God, and the life-guiding principles of His Word, would be a characteristic of the last days. Also, as we have mentioned, though many have tried to find it, there does not seem to be any clear-cut reference to America in the Bible, which is arguably, the best, most evangelical, Biblical, and benevolent country in the world’s history. This is an enigma, to say the least. In my view, the reason this is true is because America, who, as a nation, has left her first love - our Lord Jesus. Now, the present generation that has forgotten Him, and is falling for a great delusion and are believing a lie. The past election cycle was a choice between one candidate that reflects our nation’s apostasy, and one who represents all that is anti-Christ. I am amazed, better appalled, at the number of people I thought were intelligent, with some judgment or discernment, and had common sense, who are choosing that which is of Satan and his anti-Christ. Patrick Henry wisely said, "Bad men cannot make good citizens. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience are incompatible with freedom." Godly morality is important. What one believes does make a difference. Thomas Jefferson also advised, "A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of the laborer the bread he has earned. This is the sum of good government. The professing believers of our country have apostatized not only God’s Word, but our country’s founding principles based thereon. Hal Lindsey wrote, prior to the election: “I fear that most Americans do not understand the true nature of the issues they are voting on. Among other things, this election may determine whether the government will be empowered to forcefully take money earned by some Americans and redistribute it as it chooses to others. As I have taught for 50 years, there are certain divine institutions God set forth in the Bible. They are intended for the good and welfare of all mankind. To whatever degree a people honors these institutions, they will be blessed, preserved and prospered. First, the institutions of freedom to choose one's own destiny and the "sanctity of life," these were enshrined in the US, Declaration of Independence:” "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." We have learned that error begets error; truth begets truth. I fear the error caused by the God’s people’s ignorance of Him and His truth, will lead many to choose an anti-Christ candidate that will reap an “Amerika” in place of the Providentially founded and blessed “America.” So that, America, as we have known it, ceases to exist. Because many saved Americans are now apostate (having rejected and abandoned the Lord, the knowledge of Him, and following His ways) , that rejection has earned a delusion that causes people to believe and choose a lie. As I reflect on the election, the Lord didn’t see fit to give us a candidate with strong Biblical convictions, as we now see on all levels of government. Both were/are pagan and anti-Christ in their beliefs. There was no “lesser of two evils” from a Biblical perspective. This is a sure indication of God’s judgment on America. The light of influence America has had on the world for goodness and Godliness, which has been diminishing, has, finally, come to an end. Without that light, darkness in the world is setting in rapidly. Even so, Come Lord Jesus! RSB
