MARCH,2012 NEWSLETTER.

NEW MEMBERS.

It's a couple of months now sincethis item was last included in the Newsletter, so to revive the tradition, so as to speak, a most hearty welcome is extended to the following;

Ian Thoday from Congleton with his Jaguar Mk.2.

Karl Montague Greenhillfrom Rushton Spencer with his Rover Mini.

Fred Boulton from Church Lawton with his 1948 Rover.

George Stevenson from Urmston with his Triumphs & Land Rovers.

Nathan Wisniewski from Stoke on Trent with his VW Beetle.

LEEK CAR SHOW 21st. April,2012.

Tony Pomelli, who picked up one of his many trophies at a show in Leek, last Autumn, has been contacted regarding another show. There's no mention of music this time and it appears to be a turn up and show meeting. About 15 - 20 members expressed an interest in attending.

NANTWICH TRANSPORT FESTIVAL. REVISED DATE.

Due to an availability problem, the date has had to be revised to 24th. June,2012. Let's hope that this change brings with it some better weather!

BRIDGMERE GARDEN CENTRE.

The Classic Car weekendswhich have taken place at this venue for the past few years, appear to have fallen victim to a change in focus, following a change in management last year. Terry contacted them for dates and was informed there are no shows planned this year, but if it changes we'll be in touch.

DONINGTON HISTORIC FESTIVAL. 5th. & 6th. May,2012.

Many thanks to Stephen Mooney, who organised a club "presence" at this event. Anyone who wishes to attend must book in advance, 0844 873 7355 or quoting Booking Code reference - CONGDHF12. Racing starts at 14h10 on the 5th and 11h05 on the 6th. £15 per person for both days

CHOLMONDELEY PAGEANT OF POWER. 15-17th. June,2012.

A short discussion on the possibility of registering for a club stand at this event indicated little interest. The club admission price of £17 per person per day appears restrictive.

TATTON PARK & OULTON PARK EVENTS.

These events are organised by Cheshire Auto Promotions and, unlike the GOLD CUP event at OultonPark, are FREE TO ENTER events. (The OultonPark event is new this year, July 14/15) Space for Club Stands is reserved in advance for these events BUT it is necessary to register with Terry, name and vehicle details in advance. A REFUNDABLE deposit of £5 is also requested at the time of booking and is returned at the event. (Any NO SHOW deposits go to Club Funds) Members are, of course, perfectly entitled to register privately or to support Marque Stands but if there is insufficient support for the Club Stand then it will inevitably have to be cancelled. Booking for the events has to close 2 months before the event because, whilst space has been reserved, the organisers need vehicle details to do the tickets. The Club doesNOT do the tickets and there are no open tickets. Bookings for the TattonPark June event will close at the April meeting and the OultonPark event at the June meeting. This will enable tickets to be handed out at club meetings, thus saving time and cost.

MEMORY JOGGER.

No this isn't a special offer nor another expression for a Brain Teaser. It's simply a reminder for those members who have overlooked to renew their membership to renew asquickly as possible.

STORAGE SPACE REQUIRED.

Paul Starkey, of Capri and General Lee fame, is desperate for some storage space to accommodate his expanding collection. Anyone who may be in a position to help please contact Paul directly on 07752 598210.
