HKIS Upper Primary Band Program 2017/18 Application/Expression of Interest

Registration Due to 4th Floor Upper Primary Office by Monday April 3rd

In August 2017 the Upper Primary band will join the successful After School Activities programs run by H.K.I.S. Mr Lovett will continue to teach these classes through the company Micramusic Ltd,as an extension of the H.K.I.S. music programs.

Open to grade four and five students and leads into the Middle School curricular band classes. In middle school UP band students generally transition to the Grade 6 advanced band.

Upper primary students commence on one of the following five Band instruments. Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone or Euphonium. In 2nd term students may transitionto Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Tuba and Percussion. All materials and instruments can be supplied.

Class Schedule Semester one Aug 26 to Jan 26.

3.15 to 4.00 Intermediate Band Trumpet Low Brass Flute Clarinet

4.00 to 4.45 Clarinet Low Brass Trumpet Intermediate Band Flute

(Low brass includes Trombone and Euphonium.)

Term two schedules vary slightly and are available on line.

No refund will be available for classes cancelled due to weather warnings, school closures or directives from the school..

Two classes per week for all students..

First Class - 4.20 school bus available or parent pick up. Second Class:– 4.45pm parent pick up

Fees–

Lesson fees - $11 000 for full year payable May 31stto secure placement for 2017/18 school year. Discount available if more then one child in the UP Band Program.

Instrument Levy –$950 Instrument loan and all consumables (for those borrowing instrument) or

Materials Levy $350 Consumables only (Reeds Books, Oils etc) This will also cover minor repairs and service of student owned instrument through our repair shop. Discount available on more extensive repairs.

Book deposit - $50 refundable at end of year on return of book in good condition.
