Help for Today . . . Hope for the Future

An evening of workshops to assist parents and guardians in nurturing the whole child

The following workshops will be offered:

  1. What is the Core of our Diocese Teaching? – Join Jona Wright, Associate Superintendent for the Department of Catholic Schools and graduate of Rochester Diocese Schools, in a session to learn further about what the focus on instruction is for the diocese schools. Our Christian Identity guides our work with students, as do NYS curricular standards. Learn more about how the two come together to make irresistible Catholic Schools. Share the good news!

Presenter: Jona Wright, Associate Superintendent, Department of Catholic Schools

  1. Parents Grounded in Faith – Come “Get Grounded!”… it’s a good thing! As parents of four children under 12, we know that parenting can pull you in many different directions all at once. But there’s so much more to life than the endless cycle of work, laundry, dishes and errands. God wants you to spend time with Him each day so you can have the life you should have. Before you move on to the next thing on your list, invite God in. You’ll be amazed at the difference it can make. Join us to share ideas on how to make time for God in your family and together we can “Get Grounded.” Presenters: Kevin and Karin Spears
  1. Homework Without Tears for Kindergarten – Grade 2 : This session will provide parents with the tools to develop good homework habits at an early age and how to motivate their children to succeed academically. Presenter: Christine Smith, Resource/Special Education Teacher
  1. Homework Without Tears for Grade 3 – 8:This session will provide parents with a systematic approach to ending the nightly battles over homework and how to motivate their children to succeed academically.

Presenter: Christine Smith, Resource/Special EducationTeacher
