NEWSLETTER – 13TH NOVEMBER 2015

OUR WEEK:

We’ve had a busy week. Class 2 had a great time at the Ruskin Library and produced some beautiful drawings of the artefacts there. Mrs Smith held a very informative and moving Remembrance Assembly- the wreath was put on the memorial later as the weather was so bad. Four of the School Council representatives accompanied me to the Remembrance service at Fleetwood Marine Hall. Our Netball team played a friendly match at Nateby in the rain and won 4, 3 against Cockerham (who were a super team). Today (Friday) we’ve had a lovely day in non-uniform too raise money for Children In Need.

NEXT WEEK:

We will have a team in the basketball tournament at GCA on Tuesday; Lancashire Fire and Rescue will be talking to Years 2 and 6 and Charlie is in all day on Thursday building a stone age round house with Classes 2 and 3! He will be impressed that the WW2 planes we made last year are still doing well at the front of school. Children must wear old trousers and shoes that do not have open toes for this workshop- so another non-uniform day for classes 2 and 3 only!

MORE GOODBYES

Miss Hindhaugh is leaving us on 27th November. She has been at Nateby School for just over two years as a Teaching Assistant apprentice. She has been a real help to us and we will really miss her. She has worked very hard and done very well in her college work. She has become part of the team here; we wish her all the very best for her future.

ROSE QUEEN

We are delighted to announce that Hannah Procter is our Rose Queen for 2016. If your child is interested in being part of Hannah’s Retinue please contact Mrs Procter on 01253 790262 or 07510529111.

SCHOOL DINNERS

Please can parents of children who have a mixture of packed lunches and school dinners make sure they are informing the kitchen of which days their child/dren are on a school lunch and what there choice of meal is. There has been some confusion recently with the kitchen not knowing how many dinners they are serving. Thank you.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Part of Miss Hindhaugh’s role was to give pupils breakfast in the morning before school as needed and to organise snacks after school. We are now in need of someone to take up this small part of Miss Hindhaugh’s duties. It would mean coming in to school around 8.40am and leaving around 9am and again at 3.15pm until about 3.55pm every night after school. This would equal 5 hours a week at the Living Wage £8.25 / hour. Anyone who takes up the post could have their children in the clubs at the same time so childcare would not be an issue. No training is necessary but a DBS check will be completed. If you are interested in the roll please email me or contact school as above.

NEWSPAPERS

It would be helpful for us to have a small collection of newspapers in school- not to read but to cover tables with in art lessons! If you have any newspapers that would be suitable for school use could you please send them in with your child. Thank you.
