Job Title / Fundraising Manager
21 hours /week
Reporting relationships / Reports to: Business Manager
Overall purpose / The Fundraising Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the charity’s fundraising strategy.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to increasing income for Harbour to sustain and grow services.
Principal responsibilities / FUNDRAISING STRATEGY
  1. Work with colleagues to develop fundraising strategy for Harbour
  2. Co-ordinate the delivery of Harbour’s fundraising strategy
FUNDING BIDS
  1. Identify opportunities to bid for funding from government (local & central) sources and charitable trusts
  2. Work with colleagues to scope projects which match funding requirements
  3. Develop funding bids to bring new income into Harbour
COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING
  1. Network to raise the profile of the organisation within its communities
  2. Build and maintain a supporter base within the communities where Harbour is active.
  3. Engage with groups and individuals within the communities to support and fundraise for Harbour
  4. Co-ordinate specific fundraising initiatives, e.g. at Christmas
  5. Consider opportunities to generate funds through new initiatives
DATA
  1. Work with Harbour colleagues to ensure compliance with GDPR in all fundraising activities
GENERIC
  1. Contribute to the formulation of policy and future strategic development of Harbour as a member of the senior management team.
  2. Work collaboratively with Harbour colleagues to deliver effective services to those affected by domestic abuse.
  3. Develop and maintain links with other agencies, representing the organisation externally.
  4. Develop positive partnerships with external bodies and organisations to enhance performance.
  5. Ensure personal safety and that of service users and staff at all times, including adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain safe and healthy working environments, including effective lone working procedures.
  7. Such other duties as the Chief Executive may from time to time reasonably require.

Location / The postholder will have an office base in Hartlepool.
They will occasionally provide management cover for Harbour’s operational projects.
Practical requirements / The post holder needs to be able to travel across Harbour’s area of operations.
The job may require some evening and weekend work.
The post holder will be required to be on-call out of hours to respond to any issues that require the intervention of a manager on a rota basis.
Remuneration package / SALARY
£28,000 per annum full time equivalent salary (35hrs)
This post will be pro rata for part time hours
PENSION
Harbour will contribute to a defined contribution pension scheme.
HOLIDAYS
First & second year / 21 days + public holidays
Third full holiday year / 23 days + public holidays
Fourth full holiday year / 25 days + public holidays
EXPENSES
Mileage for business travel paid at £0.40/mile for the first 1500 miles, then 25p/mile.
