Project - Apply What You Have Learned

Task: To identify connections between and summarize your learning preferences.

  • Your left or right brain dominance
  • Your learning style
  • Your multiple intelligences

Part I – Gathering Material

Using the outline provided, fill in all the missing information. You must include the following:

  1. A definition for each concept
  2. Copies of the results from each inventory / self-assessment
  3. Examples of characteristics – specific to you and your preferences
  4. Examples of aids – specific to you and your preferences

For example: If you were gathering information on your learning style, I would include the following information …

Learning styles are the ways an individual perceives and processes information most effectively. I am a visual learner, some who receives and processes information best through visual means. I would like to receive information drawn out on a chalkboard. To aid in my understanding I create graphic organizers or concept maps. Graphic organizers are visual representations of information which show the connection between concepts and examples.

Part II – Connections

Think about the connections that are visible among the three preferences (learning style, multiple intelligences, left / right brain). Complete this part of the outline – be detailed.

Part II – Create!!

Choose what you would like to create in order to effectively present the required information. Apply your learning styles and preferences to your choice. Ideas may include:

  • Poster
  • Report / essay
  • Power Point
  • Speech (recorded)
  • Play / Skit (recorded)
  • Etc. (you decide!)
