“FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN THE AGE OF GLOBALIZATION: EDUCATION, ECONOMY, CULTURE”

The Faculty of Foreign Languages, NATIONAL RESEARCH N.P. OGAREV MORDOVIA STATE UNIVERSITY, andSaransk Society of the English Language and Culture, are pleased to announce the international Conference,devoted to the 60th anniversary of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

The Conference focuses on discussing the potential of foreign languages as a factor of social progress and integration.

Conference languages – Russian, English, German, French.

Please use these topics as guides in developing your proposals:

problems of translation: theory and practice;

foreign languages for economic cooperation;

issues of teaching foreign languages;

topical problems of contemporary linguistics;

the text in cross-cultural space;

issues of linguo-cultural studies: theory and practice;

contemporary problems of cross-cultural communication;

international co-operation in higher education.

We welcome your proposals for workshops and round-tablediscussions!

Deadline for papers and registration: 19 November 2012.

Applications for participation should be sent via e-mail (as Word attachments) to or . Please include the note “Conference” in the subject of the letter. The abstracts are planned to be published by the beginning of the Conference. A selection of papers presented at the Conference will be available to download at after the Conference.

Please send your abstracts up to 1 page and full-text presentations up to 10 pages but not fewer than 5 pages in any language of the Conference with a short abstract up to 4 sentences in English via mail to or . The e-mail should include the note “Conference” in the subject of the letter.

The Conference fee is500 roubles(in case of full-time participation) and 150roubles (in case of participation by correspondence). One page in the book of full-text presentations costs 150 roubles.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

word processor MS Word , Times New Roman, 14 point type;

margins – 20 mm, lines without hyphening;

indent – 1. 25 sm;

page format - А4;

pictures are installed into the text;

the title of the paper (normal, capitals, centred), the author's name and surname (next line, normal, right alignment), the name of the institution of his/her affiliation , city, country (next line, normal, right alignment); the line spacing is 1;

the text of an abstract (line spacing –1,5, no references in the text);

the text of an article and a short abstract (line spacing –1, references in the text are written in square brackets, pages are given through a colon, for example, [Ivanov 2007: 313], bibliographyfollowsthe main text in alphabetical order;

all the papers submitted are to be edited by their authors, the Organizing Committeewill reject any paper that goes beyond the format of the Conference.
