REPORT / DISTRICT PASSDOWN
·  Flotilla financial reports need to be included in all Flotilla Commanders Reports.
·  NACON 2013 is in full swing, member class list is being finalized and will be coming soon.
·  Memorial Marker Ceremony was held May 5th with the first ever webcast of the event as well as the District Board and Staff meeting. This is the first event of its kind within the Auxiliary witharound 160 members attending the event at Sector LA/LB and roughly 40 members attended via the webcast including National Commodore Tom Malison and DNACO Bruce Miller from the
·  National IT Doctrine plus several DCO's from across the nation.
·  Division 10 is also the first to post the rebroadcast on there website. The post is on the "What's New" page of our website with over 300 hits so far. The video is linked to the District website
·  which means over 300 members from the District and the nation have viewed our website.
·  National Safe Boating Week is May 18-24 with many events scheduled across the District.
·  The next District Board and Staff meeting is scheduled for June 22nd which will be webcast again, invitations will go out via Everbridge broadcast email system to all District members.
DCDR PASSDOWN
·  All Flotilla Commanders Report MUST be submitted in writing by there due dates on the proper District Report Form. Reports submitted as an email or verbally will not be excepted. Most FC reports are coming in on time and thank you for that but those that aren't you need to step up and get those reports in. This part of your Flotilla Commanders responsibility and compliance is part of your sworn duty. Due date for FC reports again is NO LATER THAN THE 25th of the month.

VCDR REPORT / Division Vice- Commander is pleased to announce Division staff are being proactive and taking leadership position to encourage all members to volunteer in the numerous activities that have commenced in the Phoenix area.

10)  After our big clean up and VE event on 30 March the MS activity has slowed down a bit. Still trying to see who is interested in the MS program and planning on showing the power point presentation sent by District.
2) I am working with Rob Rodriquez on a possible clean up at Tempe Town Lake.
After discussing with Rob we have decided that this would be a perfect job for the Navy Sea Cadets! Rob will be contacting a chapter of the Sea Cadets to see if they would be interested.
3) I am scheduled to work 18 May at Lake Pleasant for the kick off of Safe
Boating Week. I will be doing VEs. No clean up is scheduled since we just did this in March and it would be better to work VEs for safety.
Flotilla 10-8
I think I forgot to add this to last month’s report
1) Attended Central Arizona Quagga Team meeting on 28 February.
2) Reports were given on Quagga control efforts at Red Mountain Lake and the Reclamation Mussel Detection Program.
3) If LMB Virus is listed, effected lakes, including Bartlett, Roosevelt and Saguaro will be subject to Directory’s order 3 (pull, drain, dry) enforcement, like Lake Pleasant.

Executive Summary
The Division and all the Flotillas are gearing up for the boating season by actively engaging in Operational Member Training. AUXLAMS Part A&B has been canceled and the Division has set up dates for SABOT training.
Details
• The New Member Academy on 18 & 19 MAY 2013 was cancelled due to lack of participation.
• The Division has scheduled SABOT Training on the following dates. Part 1 01 JUN. Part 2, 13 JUL or 20 JUL.
• Seven Members attended the SABOT Part One Training at Bass Pro Shop on 11 MAY.
• Flotilla 10-01
Mentors have been assigned to several Members for Boat Crew training.
One hour TCT training has been deferred until the Fall when Members return to the area.

Three Members have signed up for the SABOT Training.
One Members participated as a Trainee on vessels patrolling during the Utah State Parks LE Training at Lake Powell.

Two flotilla members taught the SABOT Class on 11 May at the Bass Pro Shop in Mesa with seven trainees in attendance.

Executive Summary:
Surface patrol activity continues to increase. Patrols were conducted on Lake Powell to support Utah State Parks Department with its Watercraft Officer School, as well as on Lake Pleasant and Saguaro Lake. We conducted our first session of SABOT boat crew training. District 11 Commander, RDML Carl Schultz was our guest for a FAM patrol on Lake Pleasant. Plans are underway for additional patrols during National Safe Boating Week on the sole state lakes and on Lake Powell.
Details:
• Flotillas 10-7 and 10-2 provided support for the Utah Parks Department’s watercraft officer school at Lake Powell on May 2 and 3. Vessels Thor (coxswain Michael Johnson, crew Glenna Kay McBroom) and La Vida (coxswain Mike Chapman, crew Karen Chapman and Bud Gothann) assisted as scenario vessels for the officers being trained. Our AUXLO, LT John Bannon got a first-hand look at the activity and a FAM flight, courtesy of the National Park Service, over a good part of the lake. La Vida and Thor also conducted safety patrols Saturday and Sunday. Communications was handled by Vince Oppedisano. Michael Johnson, DSO-SL also met with his D11N counterpart (COMO Michael Williams), LT Bannon and the chief ranger and the superintendent of the Glen Canyon Recreation Area concerning upcoming needs for the boating season.
• Division 10 completed its first SABOT training class on May 11 at Bass Pro Shop in Mesa. Instructors COMO Gary Taylor and George Hornbeck from Flotilla 10-10 covered the Boat Handling, Anchoring and Man Overboard sessions, with 6 students from Flotilla 10-8 and one from Flotilla 10-10 participating.
• Flotilla 10-7 members Kay McBroom and Michael Johnson successfully completed their 3rd year PWC checkrides. Flotilla 10-1 member Patrick Porter successfully completed his dockside oral exam and checkride for the PWC Operator qualification. PWCs Star, Thunder, Lightning were used for these patrols on Lake Pleasant.
• On May 7 our District Commander, RDML Carl Schultz came to Lake Pleasant for a FAM patrol hosted by Chris Harshfield, DCDR 10. Two patrol boats participated; Huntress VI (coxswain Chris Harshfield) and Mizpah (coxswain Mike Doyle). The Admiral was given a full tour of the Lake and its amenities. The Admiral had been attending a meeting of the Western States Boating Administrators Association in Flagstaff, and arranged his schedule so that he could see what the Auxiliary does on the sole state waters in Arizona.
• Flotilla 10-8 conducted two patrols on Saguaro, April 28 and May 5 with Ashley Christine, resulting in 4 minor SARs and contacts with16 other vessels to inform them of PFD requirements, bow riding dangers, skiing and tubing requirements, and welfare checks. Flotilla 10-8 also patrolled on Lake Pleasant on May 11 with Mizpah.
• Patrols are planned for National Safe Boating Week: on Lake Pleasant with Intrepid, 5/25, 5/26 and 5/27; on Saguaro Lake with Mizpah, 5/18 and Ashley Christine, 5/18, 5/19, 5/25, 5/26, 5/27; on Lake Roosevelt with Dream Catcher, 5/18, 5/19, 5/25, 5/26, 5/27; on Lake Powell with La Vida, 5/25, 5/26, 5/27. D8WR plans to patrol the upper end of Lake Powell with two vessels from 5/25-5/27

10-2 Karen Chapman – report as follows
• One Member of our Flotilla has indicated that he is transferring to a Flotilla in Tulsa, OK where he now lives. The paperwork has not gone through yet.
• A potential New Member in Cedar City, UT was contacted. He is only interested in the AUXAIR program and has it has been suspended in Sector San Diego, he will not be joining at this time. He asked that the FC contact him if and when it is reinstituted.
• An application for Membership was sent to DIRAUX for a New Member living in Flagstaff last month. She has a Member ID# in AUXDATA, but nothing has been received as yet.
