February 22, 2006 -- Received for review from lead textbook developer, Dr. David McEntire, University of North Texas, 1st draft of final chapter by Dr. McEntire and Sarah Smith, Emergency Administration and Planning Program, entitled "Making Sense of Consilience: Reviewing the Findings and Relationships among Disciplines, Disasters and Emergency Management."

(2) EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT & HOMELAND SECURITY/DEFENSE HIGHER ED CONFERENCE, JUNE 5-8, 2006:

Communicated with LtCol Doug Johnston at NORTHCOM concerning populating the Defense Coordinating Officers "Perspectives on Catastrophe Readiness and Response" panel.

Communicated with Dr. Stan Supinski, NavalPostgraduateSchool, concerning his moderating and speaking during the "National Homeland Security Joint and Intergovernmental Education and Training Initiatives"

breakout session.

Talked with William Nicholson, North CarolinaCentralUniversity, about the possibility of a breakout session presentation on Cultural Conflict in Homeland Security.

(3) GEORGETOWNUNIVERSITY:

February 22, 2006 -- Met with Dr. Robin L. Dillon-Merril and Dr. Cathy Tinsley, McDonouogh School of Business, Georgetown University, concerning their EM HiEd Conference breakout session on the "Near Miss"Effect and Disasters, as well as on the planning for their own Georgetown University sponsored workshop on "What is DC's Katrina" to be scheduled sometime this Fall. February 22, 2006 -- Barbara Johnson communicated with Karen Hutt, Training & Development Director for Continuing Education, Health & Medical Programs, at MidlandTechnicalCollege, concerning the initiation of an investigation at Midland into the development of a Homeland Security and Emergency Management Certificate Program.Information was provided as well as an invitation to attend the June Higher Education Conference.
