Principals Report

  • Tons of Activities this past month
  • “Mix it up at Lunch” Day
  • Kids wore different color socks and/or mismatched clothes
  • Sat with new Peers and asked lots of great questions to get to know one another and someone new.
  • Turkey Trot
  • There was 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade winners
  • Science Fair Workshop
  • Lots of exhibits and a great turn out.
  • Open House American Education Week
  • Upcoming Activity
  • Boosterthon is on November 19th
  • December PTO meeting was voted on and will be canceled. Next PTO meeting is in January 2016
  • K-2nd Grade Caroling on 12-23. Kim Lloyd is running this event.

Discussion
  • Mrs. Kass said that the Masquerade Ball was very Fun and that all the families were thrilled that the entrance fee was $1.00 per child.
  • Veterans Day was a huge success – School wide activities. 3rd Grade decorated hearts that hung around the school.
  • At Recess the kids have been enjoying a Boosterthon Assemble. Songs, dancing, pep rally, movies
  • At the end of November all parents should see the Reading Benchmark System sent home.
  • All Classrooms enjoyed their Fall Festival in their classrooms.
  • Mrs. Kass Thanked the PTO for organizing the Teachers Breakfast and the Boosterthon. Also, thank you for helping the 4th graders with their Blanket projects.

School Board Report

  • New Member school board member was introduced at the Meeting.
  • Two former Beaver Creek students were reconized at the school board meeting
  • The exterior windows of the schools will be surveyed
  • Maggie Finkbiner asked getting a new fence around the Kindergarten Playground. Dr Lawless said that the kindergarten Sidewalk was just fixed and we should be receiving a new fence in the spring.
  • Action Item - Felicia Bailiey mentioned that the school board is voting on more money sent to the facilities. DrLawless, said that this was not completed at the board meeting and Felicia will look into.

  • Action Item – Follow up on the Actual amount made from Boosterthon

New Buisness

  • In keeping with Beaver Creek PTO Tradition, Maggie Finkbiner put forward a motion to cancel the 12/2 PTO meeting due to busy holiday schedules. All present voted and unanimously passed the vote to cancel the December meeting and resume in January 2016.
  • LisaHallhan and Donna Diberardinis spoke about the Operation Military Christmas
  • Children made cards for Service men and Women
  • Families brought in items to send overseas to all service men and women
  • Pictures of Servicemen and Women were sent from overseas of all Soldiers receiving their Cards and Items.
  • Thank you to the children and Families that helped support our military personnel

  • Maggie Finkbiner thanked all PTO/Committee Chairperson – Box tops, Fall Consignment Sale, Masquerade Ball, Science/Family Fun Night, Boosterthon Fundraiser

  • Idea Connection – 5th Grade Buddy Club
  • Phoebe Katz, a 5th Grader at Beaver Creek Elementary School is moving forward with her idea of having students in the Autistic Support Class team up with 5th graders and go to the Special Olympics.

  • Special Guest Speaker – DetTrautmann, Downingtown Police Department to Discuss Cyber Safety and Parental Controls.
  • The number of children using technology is constantly rising and protecting their privacy is becoming a major challenge.
  • Beaver Creek PTO put together a Resource Page that can be accessed on the PTO website.
