Event Parking at SIU

We hope that your visit to SIU will be more enjoyable by understanding some basics about parking on campus. Due to high vehicular traffic/congestion and Saluki Express bus activity in front of the Student Center, we want to ensure that vehicles with multiple passengers drop off and pick up visitors in the safest manner possible. Please review the following options and instructions:

Options for those coming by small van or cars include:

Park in Lots 13/13A (metered parking areas only), located directly across the street from the Student Center. The meters in the metered lots take quarters only and cost $0.50 per hour. OR

Purchase a one-day Guest Parking Permit from the SIUC Parking Division. Guest Parking Permits are $3.00 per day per vehicle, and are valid in any parking lot on campus. The Parking Division is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the Parking Division at 701 S. Park near the buses in Lot 56. There is no charge for event parking in Lot 56.

Buses should enter campus from Route 51 at the intersection of Route 51 and Lincoln Drive and proceed approximately 50 yards west on Lincoln Drive, where Police Officers/Parking Agents will direct buses to the bus pull-offs by the Student Center/Student Services Building to unload OR into Lot 10B. Buses turning right into Lot 10B will be directed through the lot in order to turn around and come back out onto the west side of the drive until the bus pull-off unloading zone is available. Please note that buses should not unload until they reach the bus pull-offs by the Student Center/Student Services Building. Once unloaded, the buses should proceed to Lot 56 (located south of Saluki Drive). Buses areNOTallowed in Lot 18 (immediately south of the Arena).

Once the event is over, buses may proceed back to the original drop-off location to pick up their students. Police Officers/Parking Agents will once again be on hand to assist the bus drivers.
