Current Responsibilities:

As Project Manager with Mountain Environmental Services, Inc. Mr. Ball’s current responsibilities include project review and over site, Industrial Hygiene, Lead Based Paint, Radon & Asbestos, Construction QA-QC, coordination of field assessment activities, analytical data interpretation, UST and groundwater regulatory compliance, client/regulatory liaison. Perform final QA/QC review of reports and correspondence. Phase I, II, and III, Environmental Site Assessments, TSP’s, Real Estate Transfer’s.

Professional Qualifications:

Mr. Ball’s work experience spans 20+ years in the environmental/geosciences industry including management and professional staff positions in environmental/geotechnical consultation and state regulatory compliance. His range of project experience includes leaking underground storage tank (UST) assessment, real estate transaction environmental assessment, North Carolina Department of Transportation geotechnical investigation, soil and groundwater assessment, project health and safety oversight, State of North Carolina UST compliance regulation. Indoor air quality investigations, and quality assurance/quality control on many construction projects. He served as EH&S Engineer at South Pole Antarctica, and worked the disaster in New York on 9/11, as well as flood damage assessment ‘05.

Buncombe County Solid Waste-US EPA XL Bio-reactor project – Asheville, NC

Oversee installation of new Bio-Reactor System at Buncombe county Landfill. Construction QA/QC, and operations control. Monthly leachate monitoring of same program for regulatory compliance. Est. Project Cost: $5,000,000.00

Linn Cove Viaduct – Blue Ridge Parkway – Linville, NC

Worked with site investigation crews for placement of support pillars, and control damage to natural environment around work areas. QA/QC of project oversight. Est. Project Cost: $3,500,000.00

Shuford Mills – Hickory, NC

Performed soil and groundwater release assessment of leaking USTs, and Toluene release. Assessment and remediation included installation of monitoring ports and removal, installation and monitoring of air sparging and soil vapor extraction (AS/SVE) remediation system. Reporting used Standard Comprehensive Site Assessment protocol, including groundwater flow maps, contaminant isoconcentration maps, and chemical analytical results. Est. Project Cost: $2,800,000.00

Ocoee River – Olympic Kayak Course – Cherokee National Forest, TN.
