Role:

RockSolid Dundee is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring candidate to continue to develop the new role of YouthBank Coordinator to:

To coordinate and support young people to develop and maintain the YouthBank;

Encourage inclusion and equality by supporting young people to address barriers inhibiting their participation;

To support young people to promote the project and identify the priorities in their local community that they will support.

The post is a fixed term contract until April 2020 and is funded by Big Lottery Fund.

Organisation profile:

RockSolid Dundee was established in 2013 as a charitable community organisation in the East End of Dundee. RockSolid works with young people in the local community between the ages of 10-24.

When working with young people, RockSolid has three broad aims:

1.Young people will become more confident in expressing themselves;

2.Young people will have an increased sense of community belonging;

3.Young people will have an increased ability to work effectively as a team.

At RockSolid we use a co-production model in our approach to community development work. This means that we try not to do thingsforyoung people, but work alongside young people to identify local issues and priorities - shaping the local community through developing a variety of programmes and activities.

RockSolid works in close partnership with local agencies including the East End Learning Partnership, Craigiebank Church, Douglas and Mid Craigie Parish Church of Scotland, Claypotts Primary, St. Pius X Primary, and Craigie High, Grove Academy and Craigiebarns Primary as well as a number of charities in delivering youth work and tackling poverty in the East End of Dundee.
