Pole Top Rescue
Pole Top Rescue is a Darwin based rock band with an edge formed in June 2012 by founding members Lachlan Parsons and Stuart Higlett.
Despite having attended the same schools and having the same group of friends and being rival gang members of the KGB (Karama Ghetto Boys) and Malak Alley Cats, Stuey (Lead Vocals, guitar) and Lachie (Guitar, backing vocals) didn’t meet until joining Jasmine Revolution in 2011. They quickly discovered that they shared a musical vision and after 12 months playing music together they decided to expand their musical horizons and form Pole Top Rescue. With Lachlan’s vast back catalogue of extremely catchy hooks and melodies and Stu’s eagerness to create and perform music the seeds were planted.
They enlisted the talents of Tim Birch after hearing of his drumming prowess from some sleepless housemates. Influenced and driven by love, Tim has found his way to Dtown via Brisvegas and Melbs; performing with bands such as ‘Gelmi’ and ‘This Dog Bites’. His heart beats to the sound of his bass drum, and melts to the sound of his ride cymbal. Wishing to connect, he hopes he will melt your heart too. Rounding out the rhythm section is Kieran Parsons – slappin da bass! Kieran is no stranger to the Darwin music scene having fronted hard rock band ‘Nyre’.
The group bring a passion for quality song writing and a sense of fun, spontaneity and humour to their live show. The music is filled with hooks and rhythms that make you want to dance, nod your head back and forth repeatedly, sing along and sometimes even stamp your feet.
Pole Top Rescue burst onto the Darwin music scene in style in 2012 performing a number of gigs including some sold out shows to adoring excited audiences in the top end, including supporting legendary rock/pop/rap outfit ‘Regurgitator’. Named by the ‘Off the leash’ magazine as one of Darwin’s ‘Bands to watch’ in 2013 and performing in their signature formal attire Pole Top Rescue already have local fans singing along to some of their catchy numbers including ‘ladida’ and the crowd favourite Territory inspired ‘Nuff Budju’. They have already earned a reputation as a spontaneous and fun live band and will be bringing their rocking hooks and delicious melodies to a venue near you soon…BAM!
