Baylor Tennis Camp

Camper Rules and Regulations

1. Campers are expected to conduct themselves as ladies and gentlemen at all times.

2. The use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco is expressly prohibited. Violation of any of these prohibitions will be considered justification for immediate expulsion from the Camp without refund.

3. Girls will not be permitted in boys’ dorm rooms nor boys in girls’ dorm rooms.

4. A curfew procedure will be explained to the campers at the orientation meeting on the first day of Camp, and it will be enforced without exceptions. After 9:30 pm, campers must be in the dorm unless supervised activities or specific permission from a counselor allows them to be elsewhere. Each evening, campers must be in their rooms by 10:00 pm for check-in, and absence from the dorm after or at check-in will be considered as most serious offense subject to expulsion from Camp without refund. All phone calls and snacks must be completed by 9:30 pm to allow time to get to rooms.

5. Campers will be required to wear their name tags issued them at registration at all times with the exception of showering and sleeping. Losing a name tag results in a “public demonstration” (singing a song) to obtain the name tag.

6. As a courtesy to fellow campers and to other residents of the dorm, loud and boisterous activity must be minimized. Special quiet hours will be established and enforced. Campers will be allowed to go only to the Tennis Camp floors in the dorm. All other floors, except common dorm areas (TV room, lobby, etc.) are off limits.

7. Campers must keep their rooms clean and in good order. Periodic room checks may be made during the week. Campers and their parents will be held responsible for any damage done to rooms and furnishings, and payment for such damage will be collected before campers are allowed to leave the Camp. In cases where group or horse play results in damaging property, the person(s) directly involved along with each member of the group will be responsible for an equal portion of the damage. Campers are asked to report potential problems to their counselors.

8. Campers may not have automobiles while they are at Camp nor may they ride in any vehicle without permission from the Camp Director. Those driving to camp from out of town will need to check in their car keys upon arrival.

9. Campers will be expected to dress sensibly at all times. Accordingly, shirts and shoes must be worn except in and around the camper’s rooms.

10. Campers are required to attend all Camp sessions and be on time. Campers should be prepared to leave the dorm 10 minutes before each practice session. Your counselor and your group will travel together to the Baylor Tennis Courts.

11. If a camper is ill they should contact a counselor immediately. Special attention will be given to ill campers as needed. If the camper’s illness imposes a threat to others, they will be requested to leave camp. Campers will not be allowed to stay in their dorm rooms if ill and must go to the tennis center during all on-court sessions.

12. Campers will be expected to show courtesy toward the Baylor Tennis staff and fellow campers. The use of profanity is prohibited during camp. Baylor is a Baptist University and campers are expected to act in a respectful manner.

13. Use of ipods/music devices are prohibited outside the campers’ rooms as part of the camp is interacting with others.
