Course Description:

The objective of the Entrepreneurship course is to introduce students to the principles of business and marketing, the concepts of economics and free enterprise, and the understanding of human resource skills that an effective marketer must possess which provide the foundation for the study of entrepreneurship. TEKS 124.12

Course Objectives:

ü  To understand the world of Entrepreneurship

ü  To gain an awareness of resources available for creating a business plan

ü  To have an understanding of how important innovations and competitive advantage is in new and existing businesses

ü  To develop the necessary workplace skills for exploring careers as an Entrepreneur

Supplies Needed: 1 inch folder and notebook paper-to be kept in classroom.

Pen and a pencil.

A list of other supplies needed for Projects will be sent home at a later date.

Textbook: Entrepreneurship Ideas in Action 2nd Edition by Cynthia Greene

Grading: 60% Major and 40% Daily

Major: A student will be assigned three – four major grades each six weeks. Major assignments include projects, presentations, and tests. Test days for this class are Tuesday and Thursday.

Daily: Daily grades will be figured from chapter assignments, worksheets, quizzes, project planning, reports, vocabulary test, and daily assignments. All work should be turned in on time or points will be deducted.

Late-Work Procedure: Students have the opportunity to turn in late work. If they turn in a major grade late, you will receive 10 points a day it is late for per un-excused absence and for daily grades it is ½ off per day per un-excused absence.

Re-teach/Re-Test Procedure: If you do poorly on a test and would like to re-take the test, please come visit me about your grade and we will set-up a time to review the material and re-take the test.

Make-Up Policy: It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements for make-up tests, find out what assignments are missing, and when they are due. Generally, for each excused day of absence the student may take an additional day to turn in work. Mark “Absent” on your paper when you turn it in.
