Aim: / To introduce Civil Service, Diplomatic, Police, Military, Customs and Border Guard staff to the appropriate techniques for ammunition accounting and tracing in accordance with IATG and other international agreements.
Students: / Civil Service, Diplomatic, Police, Military, Customs and Border staff with counter-proliferation responsibilities at the national and local level.

Comments: / § Also includes component on ethical cargo as illustration of effective counter-proliferation strategies. These modules developed by the SIPRI Ethical Cargo Project.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
TO 1 / To introduce the threat of clandestine arms deliveries.
TO 2 / To explain ammunition terminology and the concept of Lotting and Batching.
TO 3 / To introduce applicable international legislation.
TO 4 / To explain the rationale and requirements of ammunition accounting.
TO 5 / To explain the objectives and elements of ammunition tracing.
TO 6 / To explain the methodology of ammunition ‘sampling’ in the field.
TO 7 / To identify where ammunition fits in the wider frame of commodity destabilization and international logistics.
