Position Overview
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Graphic Designerwill contribute to the production of both digital and hard copy marketing materials from initial concept throughpre-press to final publication.
The Graphic Designer supports the delivery of strategic and tactical marketing and communications on behalf of the Executive Director, Innovation and Business Development and Batchelor Institute.
Detailed Statement of Duties
- Design and produce high quality marketing and communications material, ensuring timeliness of production and dissemination in accordance with protocols, schedules and budgets.
- Be responsible for themaintainance of the marketing material registry and resources.
- Develop, test and maintain user friendly templates for Institute staff, students and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders including internal and external clients, partners, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively and effectively as a member of a high-performing team, engage positively with all internal staff and contribute to Batchelor Institute's continued development and continuous improvement.
- Support the responsive and flexible marketing and communication objectives for Batchelor Institute that takes into account the organisation's mission, business needs, stakeholders and political environment along side of the Institute’s Strategic Marketing Plan.
- Undertake any other duties necessary to this position as delegated by your line manger.
Essential selection criteria
- Minimum 3 years experiencein graphic design and a sound knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Manage external and internal quotes for print publications. Ensure a high level of accuracy and quality of presentation in all publications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track-record in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients and stakeholders in an environment requiring cultural sensitivity.
- Personal qualities such as energy, initiative, commitment to teamwork and collaboration, focus on outcomes and respect for others.
Desirable selection competencies:
- Tertiary qualifications or industry experience in graphic design and/or marketing.
- Demonstrated experience using public-facing Internet web content management systems, including being familiar with appropriate software/programming languages HTML5, Javascript and CSS3.
