PREFACE

It is a matter of immense pleasure to present this software for automatic generation of complete result to substantiate comprehensive assessment of learners under scholastic and co-scholastic areas of learning. The software, designed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Regional Office, Chandigarh, includes Grades, Scores and ideas on descriptive indicators for assessment needs with reference to CCE for class III – V.

The Central Board of Secondary Education initiated the scheme of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as a part of its Examination Reforms Programme and School Based Assessment. It is concerned with holistic assessment of a learner which includes both scholastic and co-scholastic area of learners growth with particular reference to attributes such as life skills, attitudes and values, sports and games as well as co-curricular activities.

Teacher judgements and references can be important evidence of student's achievements. And teachers need to develop principled ways to incorporate those judgements into the evidentiary/anecdotal record on which to base their formative and summative inferences about student's achievement levels. The software for teachers facilitates in accomplishing this task meticulously. The software assists in standard, acceptable and intelligible descriptive indicators with respect to the scores awarded to the students.

The difficulties involved for teachers in meeting the challenges posed by continuous assessment cannot be understated. The software meets all the requirements of teachers in tabulating the assessment and generating them with ICT. This software supports the highly prescriptive terms of Teachers Manual created by CBSE and saves time as well.

It is fervently hoped that this software is useful for teachers to fulfill their needs and assists them with required information for assessment of students. It is also an attempt to regularize and standardize the score/grades of teacher’s assessment.

The functioning and utility of this software have been discussed in various workshops and in-service courses, regional level subject committee meetings conducted by KVS (RO), Chandigarh. The teachers were well acquainted with the functioning of this software during in-service courses and seminars.

I avail this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks to Sh.Avinash Dikshit,IDAS, Commissioner, KVS, New Delhi for providing me an opportunity, guidance and motivation to develop the software. ABOUT THE SOFTWARE

The software is designed as per the latest CCE guidelines 2011-12 prescribed by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi.

The software requires Microsoft Excel 2003 or later version of MS Excel with macro security level set to low.

The CCE software is a step towards automation of evaluation system involved in continuous comprehensive evaluation. It aims at enhancing accuracy and minimizes time and efforts of teacher. It maintains a complete record of scholastic and co-scholastic areas of the students.

The salient features of the software are:

Time saving and accurate results

Entry of school and teachers details only once

Entry of student details as per admission register

Entry of marks in FA 1,2,3,4 competency-wise

Entry of marks in SA 1,2 question -wise

Separate entry for medical record of T1 and T2

Maintenance of Anecdotal Record of each student

Maintenance of fee record

Generation of grade lists for FA 1,2,3,4 and SA 1,2

Generation of Progress Cards and Result Register

Generation of Blank Slip for various purposes

Users are advised to follow the steps described in “HOW TO USE THE SOFTWARE” strictly before generating the award lists/ progress cards.

Although every effort has been made to keep the software error free, in spite of this some errors might have crept in.
