Christians Awakening to a New Awareness
On the Threshold: A New Way of Living5th-7th March 2010 at Domus Mariae Retreat Centre in Chigwell, Essex
For eighteen years CANA has been awakening to a new awareness of being in spirit. We need to ask the question “Are we awake now?” If the answer is yes, and no answer can be definitive as we will always have more to wake up to, then we need to ask the questions “What sense do we have of what is emerging within me now?” and “Do I as a spiritual being make a difference in the present world situation?”
On the 5th–7th March 2010 CANA is spending a weekend together in Chigwell in Essex (it is reached at the end of the Central Line Underground). As well as being a mutually soul nourishing time together we would like this time to be a productive search to find out how CANA members could best be served and how are we serving the planet?
The weekend will be formed from those who come. We would like to hear stories of
1. How through the years you have developed your understanding of the Christian message and how you are able or not to blend it into the existing church? (If you feel able to write a short piece on this subject of no more than 200 words, we would like to receive it ahead of the weekend.)
2. How relevant is the Christian message as you now understand it to the present world situation, and what is your vision for the future?
The second part of the weekend will be spent finding ways for CANA to move forward in a way that will both serve its membership and the wider Christian world.
In the evening we would like to share our ‘Desert Island’ music and poetry. If you have a favourite piece of music or poetry please bring it with you.
The weekend will run from 4.00pm on the Friday afternoon to after lunch on the Sunday. Accommodation is mainly in single rooms at a cost of £95 per head for the weekend. If you would like to attend by day only the cost is £25 per day which will include lunch.
