Comments from Open House and by Email

Five visitors attended the Open House and two organizations provided input during the comment period.Specific comments were provided by MAT and TNC, and Friends of the Jordan. Those specific comments were considered at the Compartment Review and if any changes were made at review are listed below.

Compartment 6(Greg Gatesy)

  • Stands 11, 15, 25 – Comment: Cut along with adjacent YOE 2001 Comp 5 stands.
  • Map and Legend – Symbol of hiker and horse needs to be added.
  • Compartment Narrative – Add mention of the Midland to Mackinac Trail in the recreation section.

Compartment 8 (Greg Gatesy)

  • Map and Legend – Symbol of hikerneeds to be added.

Compartment 18 (Kim Lentz)

  • No changes.

Compartment 29 (Tim Greco)

  • Stands 4, 8 – Remove cultural treatment prescription.
  • Stand 57 – Un-prescribe and put limiting factor on for recreation.
  • Stand 2 – Comment: Dispose
  • Stand 30 – Comment: Cut more WP to promote aspen regeneration.
  • Stands 101, 106 – Comment: WLD will mark aspen to leave for coarse woody debris.

Compartment 34 (Ric Barta)

  • Stands 10, 35, 39 – Add to comment: List of acceptable regeneration.
  • Stand 39 – Change MOC to final harvest with some red pine left for visual consideration.
  • Map – Trail symbols will be updated as per discussion with Paige Perry.
  • Stand 411 – Prescribe burn.

Compartment 53 (Greg Gatesy)

Remove FDF potential from those stands that have them.

Stands3, 27 – Add limiting factor of access.

  • Stand 19 – Change from selection to thinning.

Compartment 60 (Kim Lentz)

  • Map – Check location of North Country Hiking Trail.
  • Map and Legend - Remove ORV trail from legend and the quad symbol from map.

Compartment 72 (Kim Lentz)

  • No changes.
