RECORDING BURSARY - PLATFORM 4 AUDIO AND DIGITAL MEDIA STUDIO 2017

The Recording Bursary provides three day recording time in the Platform4 Audio and Digital Media Studio to the value of € 900. Two awards will be made in 2017. An integral part of the bursary will be working with the Resident House Engineer on how to get the most out of the studio time. It is aimed at

(a) Emerging, established & professional musicians wishing to record music

(b) Artists working on audio & sound based projects

CRITERIA

1. Application on official application form only.

2. All support material to be no larger than A4. The independent adjudicator will not assess support material larger than A4.

3. The bursary shall include 3 days recording time in the Platform4 Audio and Digital Media Studio and the successful artist / band will work with House Engineer.

4. The bursary does not include travel expenses and candidates must make their own travel arrangements

5. The bursary cannot be passed on to a third party or exchanged for a cash alternative

6. All recipients of grant assistance under the Recording Bursary for projects involving children or young people must have appropriate policies in place as regards Child Protection.

7. Grant aid provided by Kildare County Council must be acknowledged in all publicity material associated with the project. Council logos are available from the Arts Service. Kildare County Council reserves the right to publicise the awarding of the bursary. Failure to acknowledge Kildare County Council appropriately may deem the grant invalid and grant aid received may need to be refunded to Kildare County Council. All successful applications will receive a copy of Kildare County Council logos, along with the document ‘Requirements for acknowledging Kildare County Council funding’ via email. Please include a valid email address in your application.

8. Successful candidates are required to provide a short written report / update to the arts service on or before 31st October 2017, whether the project has been completed or not. Failure to do so may deem the grant invalid and grant aid received may need to be refunded to Kildare County Council.

9. Awards will be made by an independent adjudicator

10. All applicants will be advised of Councils decisions in writing.

11. The payment of a grant is not taken as an indication that the equivalent of any grant will be made to the organiser on another occasion.

12. Applications for assistance should be made on the official application form including

a. A declaration of other grants or other assistance received or sought.

b. Supporting material, no larger than A4 (e.g. examples of previous recordings (if any), lists of performances, photographs, etc)
