Kelly / 2 / sEarn a 3.8 Grade Point Average or higher
sComplete a minimum of 56 credits
sDemonstrate financial need
sPursue any major leading to the bachelor’s degree at any USM institution
Kelly at Hagerstown / 1 / sEarn a 3.8 Grade Point Average or higher
sComplete a minimum of 56 credits
sDemonstrate financial need
sPursue any major leading to the bachelor’s degree at the USM Hagerstown Center
Part-Time Weinberg / 1 / sEarn a 4.0 Grade Point Average
sComplete the Associate’s degree
sPursue any major for the bachelor’s degree at any USM institution on a part-time basis
sTuition and mandatory fees will be provided plus a small stipend for books and educational expenses
Shipley / 1 / sEarn a 4.0 Grade Point Average
sComplete the Associate’s degree
sPursue any major leading to the bachelor’s degree at any USM institution
Tyser / 1 / sEarn a 3.8 Grade Point Average or higher
sComplete a minimum of 56 credits
sPursue a major within the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park

Required Documentation

1.  Nomination letter from the community college president

2.  Scholarship Application

3.  Personal Statement of the student’s educational and career goals

4.  Official copy of the community college transcript (preferably using Electronic Transcript to USM Office, FICE code 007959)

5.  Unofficial copies or grade slips from all other colleges and universities attended

6.  Résumé or listing of the student’s extracurricular and community activities

7.  Evidence of the student’s scholarly and creative activities – limit of two items (can include copies of research papers, published material, honors, awards, etc.)

8.  One or two letters of recommendation from faculty or staff members at the community college

9.  Please do not submit the application items in folders or binders - staples or clips are permitted.

Please note:

1.  Preference will be given to Maryland residents during the scholarship selection process.

2.  Students must submit the FAFSA in order to be considered for any of the Kelly Regents Scholarships.

The internal deadline for submitting the application is April 22nd by 5pm to your Montgomery College Campus Representative.

Items with the student’s personal information should be sent by more secure means such as fax, direct mailing or Electronic Transcript. Other documentation, such as letters of nomination or recommendation, may be sent by fax or by email with attachments (Microsoft Word preferred).
