Financial Reporting and Control Manager (1)

OVERALL PURPOSE
To define, control and manage the financial accounting functions of Zamtel effectively and accurately in order to reflect the correct financial status of the company.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Minimum Qualifications / ·  A first degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Banking and Finance, or Accounting related discipline with full ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
Professional Registration / ·  Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
Minimum Experience / ·  3 years in a middle management level position.
Key Knowledge / ·  Financial acumen (broad understanding of finances within the context and environment of the business)

AREA(KPA’s) / OBJECTIVES
Payables management / ·  To process payments to suppliers and other creditors accurately and timely.
·  To provide an accurate record of all company payables for management decision making.
Asset Management / ·  To ensure that fixed assets registers are accurately maintained in order to provide a record of assets.
·  To ensure that physical checks on asset location are done and all assets are tagged for easy of reference.
·  To ensure reconciliations of fixed asset sub-ledger to general ledger in order to provide correct records.
·  To manage insurance issues in order to ensure that assets are adequate covered..
Inventory management. / ·  To coordinate the monthly stock count throughout the operation in order to have physical closing numbers.
·  To manage the monitoring and recording of inventory in order to ensure that stocks are accounted for.
·  To prepare general ledger reconciliation of inventory accounts and ensure that these agree with GL balances on a timely basis monthly.
Revenue management / ·  To manage the recording of sales and revenues onto the financial system in order to provide a record of revenues.
·  To manage receivables and debtors in order to provide records.
GL management / ·  To manage and coordinate the processing of entries to the ledger ensuring and ensure timeliness and correctness.
·  To coordinate and ensure that balance sheet GL accounts have supporting schedules in order to support the numbers on the TB.
Reporting / ·  To prepare weekly and monthly reports i.e Creditors Report, Payment Plan, Assets Reports, Stock Take Reports, Variance Reports and Reconciliation Reports on a timely basis.
·  Liaise with the company’s internal and external auditors to ensure effective auditing of the company’s accounts and respond to queries raised
Supervisory/Managerial/Leadership / To effectively manage staff to ensure that they carry out duties.
Quality control / To ensure that all financial accounting transactions are in line with company policies and procedures.
Record keeping / ·  To devise an effective record keeping system for all documentation in the unit.
Customer service / ·  To ensure that customer needs are met and that the customer is satisfied with the end service and/or product.
