Letterhead

To create a letterhead:

·  Open Microsoft Word

·  Get a new Word document

·  Click on the “Insert” tab

·  Then click on “Header” “Edit Header”

·  Create a header similar to the one on this page. NOTE: When in the regular text area the header is washed out some to indicate that it is in the header or footer.

·  You may use whatever layout or style you want. It does not have to be like this, but must include the same information (except you must use your name and company name).

·  Use textboxes for the text so that it can be arranged more easily

·  To align textboxes, click on the “Home” tab and click on “Select: Select objects” Now on the “Textbox Tools” tab select align. Select how you want the items to be aligned

·  Some like to put the address on the bottom of the page (in the footer—select Insert: Footer) like this

·  Some put the information down the side.

·  Do not put the information on both the top and bottom. Put it one place or the other.

The • is made by opening the Insert tab, select Symbol, scroll till you find the • (select More Symbols if necessary). There should be a space before and after the •

To make a watermark: Insert the picture in the background:

o  Click on the picture; select Picture Tools

o  Under Text Wrapping, select behind the text

o  Under Adjust. Select Recolor, change Color to Washout

o  Move picture to desired location (including out of the header box!)

To keep the email address from being in blue and underlined:

Highlight the email address

o  Right click on the address

o  Select "Remove Hyperlink"

Save as “Letterhead”
