COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE VIRGINISLANDS Announces

Availability of Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Scholarships

(St. Thomas, V.I.) The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) announces the availability of our 2013 scholarship applications. “We are extremely grateful to our faithful donors who continue to offer these scholarships each year, especially in these difficult economic times” said CFVI’s President Dee Baecher-Brown. “Now more than ever students will appreciate the assistance in helping to defray their college related expenses.”

Some scholarships have specific eligibility criteria, targeting a particular field of study, a particular high school, or may specify University of the Virgin Islands. The various scholarships and their eligibility requirements will be listed on CFVI’s website, as they become available. The scholarship review committee will considereach student’s application for any scholarship for which they may be eligible.

There will be a separate application posted for graduate students pursuing degrees in the Humanities, Marine and Environmental Sciences, Alternative Medicine, Pharmacy or Nursing.

Graduates of Charlotte AmalieHigh School who are pursuing a degree in medicine may apply for the CAHS Alumni Physician Scholarship.

Application forms may be downloaded directly from the CFVI website: or picked up at CFVI’s office at 5600 Royal Dane Mall or The Family Connection (TFC) Center in Tutu Park Mall.Requests may also be sent to and the form will be emailed to you.

The completed Scholarship Application and all accompanying documentation must be mailed to:

Friday, March 15, 2013 or hand delivered to our office by that date.

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands will formally announce scholarship winners in June at CFVI’s Annual Meeting.
