RACE 1 [TF0763]

CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1000M

HERECOMESMYMONEY (SY Moon) was slow to begin.

ARION (App WS Chan), which was restless in the barrier, was slow into stride after beginning awkwardly.

UNCLE LUCKY (A Munro) jumped inwards at the start crowding PRETTY ELUSIVE (I Azhar) onto FLYING MISSION (E Aslam), which in turn jumped away awkwardly.

RIKIOH (D Beasley) raced wide throughout.

Passing the 600m, NEVERTHELESS (TH Koh) momentarily steadied when racing between CASTLE QUEEN (I Saifudin) and FLYING MISSION, which laid outwards.

ARION laid inwards under pressure over the final 200m.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RIKIOH which revealed no apparent abnormality.

CLASS 4 POLYTRACK 1000M

DIVISION 2

SKY ELEVEN (I Saifudin) lost ground when crowded on jumping between ON ELECTRIC AVENUE (App H Syafiq), which jumped outwards and FRAGRANCE EMPIRE (SY Moon), which rolled inwards slightly.

PERFECT COMMANDO (TH Koh) jumped away awkwardly.


GREY FALCON (N Juglall) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.

Near the 900m, HAPPY DAYZ (M Zaki) and PERFECT COMMANDO both checked when racing between ORCHARD ROAD (A Munro) and CHAMPAGNE REIN (V Duric). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

RACE 3 [TF0765]

RESTRICTED MAIDEN SC (E) 1200M

WEIGHT FOR AGE

(2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

COUNTRY BOSS (M Rodd) and ELITE KINGDOM (D David) bumped on jumping. ELITE KINGDOM then shifted outwards and had to be eased off the heels of WHY NOT (R Woodworth).

LION CITY GOLD (R Shafiq) jumped inwards at the start inconveniencing BRIMSTONE (K A'Isisuhairi).

Shortly after the start, SAINT LINCOLN (J Powell) shifted inwards and made contact with the hindquarters of GOLDEN STATES (B Vorster).

LION CITY GOLD and BRIMSTONE made contact shortly after the start.

Near the 1000m, LION CITY GOLD, which was racing keenly, shifted outwards abruptly after racing up onto the heels of SAINT LINCOLN.

ELITE KINGDOM raced wide throughout.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on PERFECT GIRL (E Aslam) which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

RACE 4 [TF0766]

KRANJI STAKES C SC (E) 2000M

LUCKY STRIDE (App CC Wong), which was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly, raced wide from the 1200m.

The Farrier reported that KEEP SPINNING (V Duric) returned having cast its off-fore plate.

Jockey N Juglall reported that MIGHTY EMPEROR was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.


App Wong, when questioned regarding the run of LUCKY STRIDE, stated that in the middle stages when there was slow pace, he elected to go forward, however, he was concerned not to use his mount up too much as it was its first run over 2000m. He further added that after establishing his position forward and to the outside of MAGSTOCK (M Rodd), he elected to steady his mount. Thereafter, MAGSTOCK moved up to the inside of him, resulting in him racing three wide for the remainder of the race. Whilst noting his explanation, App Wong was advised that in future, it may be more prudent to allow his mount to stride forward a little bit longer so as to establish a position closer to the fence.

RACE 5 [TF0767]

CLASS 5 SC (E) 1600M

PRINCE DARCI (App R Zawari) was slow to begin.

SNOW DANCER (R Woodworth) and DANGER ZONE (D David) bumped shortly after the start.

Passing the 1400m, PRINCE DARCI had to be steadied off the heels of HOLY THOMAS (I Azhar), which shifted inwards.

App Zawari, when questioned regarding the run of PRINCE DARCI, stated that after being slow to begin, he raced in a rearward position as per its normal racing pattern. He then rode his mount along in the middle stages, however, it was one paced and did not make up any significant ground. Thereafter, PRINCE DARCI failed to run on when placed under pressure in the straight. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on PRINCE DARCI which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 6 [TF0768]

PERAK TURF CLUB TROPHY

OPEN BENCHMARK 67 POLYTRACK 1200M

HOST THE NATION (R Woodworth) and JELLY BEAN (App H Syafiq) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after the start, SUN MIRAGE (App CC Wong) shifted outwards and away from DUTY FIRST (M Kellady) bumping CONILAD (G Boss) onto JUSTICE DAY (A Munro), which had been carried inwards by FAITHFULLY (SY Moon). As a result, JUSTICE DAY and CONILAD both became unbalanced, with JUSTICE DAY losing ground.

Near the 900m, DUTY FIRST was crowded in onto HIMALAYA DRAGON (D David) by SUN MIRAGE, which shifted inwards.


Near the 800m, JUSTICE DAY eased when crowded for room between FAITHFULLY, which shifted inwards and DUTY FIRST, which shifted outwards.

MYSTIC MASTER (S John) and DRAGON SPIRIT both raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400m, JELLY BEAN, which was held up for clear running, had to be eased to avoid the heels of HIMALAYA DRAGON, which shifted outwards slightly.

Near the 200m, LONGHU (J Powell) eased when momentarily crowded between SUN MIRAGE and MYSTIC MASTER, which rolled inwards under pressure.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DUTY FIRST which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

RACE 7 [TF0769]

CLASS 5 SC (E) 1200M

HEAVENLY HAND (D David) blundered on jumping.

SUPERTEN (A Munro) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped POP GEMS (I Azhar).

KUBERA'S CHIEF (App H Syafiq), which jumped away awkwardly, made contact with PERKINS (App I Amirul) shortly after the start.

Shortly after the start, SPACE ODDITY (B Vorster) eased when crowded between MISS BLANCHETT (V Duric) and LUCKY COMMAND (App CC Wong), which shifted outwards slightly.

HOT GOLD (M Rodd) raced keenly in the early stages.

Near the 1000m, PERKINS, which was laying inwards, made contact with SPACE ODDITY, resulting in PERKINS being turned inwards.

Near the 900m, HOT GOLD was severely crowded and POP GEMS was checked when racing to the inside of BONJOUR BOB (SY Moon) and KUBERA'S CHIEF. An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

Approaching the 700m, HOT GOLD, which continued to race keenly, had to be eased after racing up onto the heels of LUCKY COMMAND, which had been steadied off the heels of MISS BLANCHETT. HOT GOLD was then held up for clear running between the 600m until passing the 400m.

Shortly after passing the 300m, SPACE ODDITY rolled outwards slightly and made contact with the hindquarters of PERKINS.

Approaching the Winning Post, LUCKY COMMAND rolled outwards under pressure and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of KUBERA'S CHIEF.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SUPERTEN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 8 [TF0770]

CLASS 4 POLYTRACK 1000M

DIVISION 1

Prior to the start, KAZUO (A Munro) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

NINETYSEVENEMPEROR (S John) and THUNDER CAT (SY Moon) both began awkwardly.

KAZUO jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped FINE CHOICE (R Shafiq).

Passing the 600m, RIVER OF GOLD (App S Shafrizal) momentarily steadied when racing tight to the inside of NORTH SKY (J Powell). Thereafter, RIVER OF GOLD laid outwards making the turn into the straight.

Passing the 250m, BURN NOTICE (E Aslam) had to be eased when held up on the heels of FINE CHOICE, which was giving ground.

Jockey R Shafiq reported that FINE CHOICE was making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on NORTH SKY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

POST RACE URINE/BLOOD: FRIDAY

SINGAPORE 26 MAY MEETING 2017

RACE 1 [TF0670] : DOUBLE CASH

25 coded urine and 27 coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

All samples were analysed and none failed except for Sample Coded No 0054548 which revealed the presence of Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Indomethacin and Diclofenac and Metabolite and which was reported to have been taken from the horse, DOUBLE CASH, trained by Trainer S Lam, which ran second in Race 1 on the above date.

On Tuesday, 13 June 2017, Trainer Lam was advised of the Analyst’s Report and his attention was drawn to the contents of MRA Rule 137 (1) relating to the Referee Samples. Trainer Lam subsequently exercised his right to have DOUBLE CASH’s Referee Sample sent overseas for independent analysis.

In terms of the Rules, DOUBLE CASH could not race again until cleared by the Stewards.

An Inquiry into the above will be held at a date to be fixed.

SINGAPORE 28 MAY MEETING 2017

29 coded urine and 30 coded blood post race samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.

SUNDAY, 28 MAY 2017:

RACE 3 [TF0692]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Friday, 16 June 2017, Jockey D David, the rider of LIBECCIO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LIBECCIO in Race 3 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 28 May 2017, approaching the 300m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of LIM'S REGARD (G Boss), resulting in that gelding having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea, the degree of interference and carelessness and submissions from Jockey David that he has been engaged to ride at the Singapore Race Meeting on Sunday, 18 June 2017. The Stewards determined to suspend his licence to ride in races and acting under MRA Rule 48(5), the commencement of the suspension was deferred to begin on Monday, 19 June 2017 until Monday, 26 June 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days). He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

On Monday, 12 June 2017, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that FAMOUS ARTIST (App CC Wong) returned lame off-fore. FAMOUS ARTIST will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
