CLASS TITLE:REVENUE SERVICE CENTER MANAGER II - SES

ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)

This is work directing all compliance enforcement activities in a Service Center located in an area with a population of financial and industrial taxpayers who conduct business in national and intrastate commerce coupled with a large taxpayer population. The primary duty of employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class is to provide leadership and direction to the service center employees to assure the operations of the service center are within the guidelines of the Department's policies, procedures, mission and values.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Directs employees in taxpayer education, to identify opportunities to improve compliance and to facilitate the recovery of uncollected, unreported, and unpaid liabilities.
  • Manages the annual operating budget of the service center, assists in the development of budget proposals, legislative issues and other initiatives.
  • Establishes service center goals, objectives and tactical plans and provides guidance to employees on their implementation and attainment.
  • Manages pilot project implementations and issues final reports with analytical recommendations to the Regional Managers and others as required.
  • Facilitates management which includes coordinating repairs, safety inspections, security, moving of offices and lease requirements.
  • Provides technical training and resources to employees to ensure work objectives are attainable and to facilitate personal/professional development.
  • Provides guidance to employees on personnel issues, assures timely and fair evaluations of employees, resolves disputes and makes recommendations to the Regional Manager concerning proposed disciplinary actions.
  • Ensures all reports as required are correct and timely submitted.
  • Maintains working agreement with local law enforcement agencies to obtain background checks on taxpayers when deemed necessary, criminal statistics reports, and use of alternate facilities when conferences with taxpayers with histories of violent behavior are necessary.
