A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Harold Ross Tichenor.

WHEREAS, Harold Ross Tichenor was a son of the Commonwealth, born in Ohio County on April 3, 1944, to the late Lee Ross and Ruth Foster Tichenor; and

WHEREAS, Harold Ross Tichenor proudly and honorably served this great Nation. A 25-year veteran of the United States Navy, he was a Chief Petty Officer who was stationed on the USS Mills during Operation Deep Freeze and on the USS New Jersey for one tour in Vietnam; and

WHEREAS, Harold Ross Tichenor was a farmer who owned and operated a 150-acre farm in the Prentiss community for more than 40 years. He was retired from TVA and was a passionate and lifelong fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats; and

WHEREAS, Harold Ross Tichenor departed this earthly life on August 18, 2013, and his passing is mourned by his family, friends, and community. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Markeda Geary Tichenor; his daughters, Stacey Tichenor, Janie Tichenor and her husband, Lee Lambert, Farrah Tichenor Belhasen, and Niki Riley and her husband, Wes; his grandchildren, Brittany Spurlock, Landon Spurlock, Grayson Belhasen, Lelia Fleener, Parker Culbertson, and Prentiss Riley; his siblings, Betty Johnson and her husband, Bob, Jackie Tichenor and his wife, Phyllis, Willie Tichenor and his wife, Dee Dee, Bruce Tichenor, Brook Tichenor, Mary Ruth Beasley and her husband, Walt, and Bess Ralph and her husband, Paul; and a sister-in-law, Shelia Tichenor. Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Bob Tichenor;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The House of Representatives expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and extends its sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and community of Harold Ross Tichenor.

âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Harold Ross Tichenor.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Tommy Thompson for delivery to the family.
