2Safety of personnel and plant must be a priority throughout the assessment. If the safety requirements are not met the assessment must stop.

3Performance and work practices in relation to the elements and performance criteria must comply with all current legislation, especially the Electricity Act 1992, and any regulations and codes of practice recognised under that statute; the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; and the Resource Management Act 1991. Elements and performance criteria

Element 1

Plan work and establish a site for the overhaul of electricity network tower foundations.

Performance criteria

1.1Work scope is identified.

1.2Site is prepared.

Element 2

Excavate and expose electricity network foundations.

Performance criteria

2.1Tower is supported and guyed.

2.2Tower foundation is exposed.

Element 3

Remove condemned electricity network foundation elements.

Performance criteria

3.1Tower leg is removed.

3.2Condemned foundation elements are removed.

Rangebolts, concrete, steel, stubs.

Element 4

Reinstate the structural integrity of electricity network tower foundations.

Performance criteria

4.1Formwork is determined and positioned.

Rangemoulds, settings jigs, templates.

4.2Reinforcing is installed.

4.3Tower holding components are assembled.

Rangebolt cages, stubs.

4.4Tower holding components are placed.

4.5Tower leg is reinstalled.

Element 5

Place tower foundation concrete.

Performance criteria

5.1Concrete is placed.

Rangedirect from barrel drum mixer, pump, hopper-crane, helicopter.

5.2Concrete samples are taken and proven.

5.3Concrete is finished.

Element 6

Reinstate tower foundation work site.

6.1Formwork and debris are removed.

6.2Site is reinstated.

Element 7

Report on the overhaul of electricity network tower foundations.

Performance criteria

7.1Work is reported and recorded as built.

7.2Existing records are updated.
