GEZE wraps its facade: A spectacular thank you to our employees to mark the company’s 150th anniversary
When people talk about wrapped buildings one immediately thinks of the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the married couple who became famous for their spectacular wrapping projects. However, a newly wrapped building in Leonberg is not the work of any artist, but of the GEZE company itself.
To mark the 150th jubilee which GEZE is celebrating this year, the family-owned company has had the facade of the administration building at the company headquarters in Leonberg enveloped in a giant banner. It displays the jubilee motto "GEZE in motion since 1863" set against a backdrop of photos of the roughly 2,600 GEZE employees at its sites around the world. The banner, which covers a total area of more than 400 square metres, can be admired at the administration building until the end of the jubilee year. GEZE wants to use this project as a way of saying thank you to its employees for their commitment and contribution to the long-term success of the company. “Since the beginnings of our company 150 years ago, GEZE has continually developed, growing from a small craft business to a leading global supplier of door, window and safety technology. Our employees play a major part in this success. We would like to sincerly thank you for this, and the banner is our way of highlighting the hard work put in by each individual”, says the Chief Executive Officer, Brigitte Vöster-Alber.
As part of a large jubilee celebration at the company premises in Leonberg, the company will be celebrating its longstanding success with all its staff and their families, as well as customers, partners and public figures, in September. Based on the motto "GREAT IDEAS SET THE WORLD IN MOTION – 150 YEARS OF GEZE" the company site will be transformed into a theme park. Young and old alike will be able to go on an exciting interactive journey through time and experience 150 years of GEZE “in motion”. A variety of international specialities will offer a culinary adventure. A whole range of music and show acts will be performed on numerous stages. The grand finale of the day will be a big party which will be rounded off with a fireworks display.
