I further acknowledge and accept the responsibilities of membership upon members as set out in these rules. I confirm that I have paid the annual membership fee and set up the standing order.

The club committee has resolved that, in an attempt to rationalise the way membership records and details are stored, the records of individual members are to be held on a computer database.

In collecting, maintaining and generally dealing with this information, the committee undertakes that:

  • The information will only be used by committee members and coaches/teachers for the purposes of the club.
  • The information will be disclosed only upon the authorisation of a nominated committee representative and only in relation to club business (for the administration of the club and in connection with gala and competition entries). Information required by the Amateur Swimming Association (A.S.A.) will be disclosed to the A.S.A.
  • The information requested and held is the level required by the club.
  • The information held will be regularly updated (at least annually).
  • If you cease to be a member of the club your information will not be held for longer than necessary after which time it will be destroyed. We only hold name and date of birth along with swimming times in order to maintain club records all other details will be destroyed.
  • The club will maintain a database of all swimmers times. This database will enable the club coaches to select swim teams for the club galas based on these times.
  • Swimmers achievements may be displayed on the website and within internal publications.
  • Any member/swimmer, or parent or guardian of the member/swimmer as appropriate, has the right to request a copy of the information held and to request that any error in the information held is corrected or that the information is erased from the computer database.
  • The information will not be circulated outside of the club for the purposes of marketing other than directly through the club.

In particular, the club wishes to know of any disabilities,health or medical problem and MUST inform the A.S.A. of any regular medication. Any information given should specify which swimmer it applies to and should be regularly updated or supplemented with additional information.

Membership Declaration:

Every Swimmer applying for membership should sign to accept the Constitution, Codes, Policies, Procedures, Rules, Plan and Forms of Sandbach Sharks ASC (as may be amended from time to time). If any Swimmer(s) is under 18 years of age then a Parent/Guardian must also sign the Membership Declaration.
